I recently switched to Dr. Pohlmaman. I am extremely happy and thankful that he is my PMD. Takes time, answers all concerns and very personable. Recommend him highly.

The annual preventative visit with Dr. Pohlman went alright however Rush Primary Clinic's billing procedures was erroneous, inconvenient, and extremely frustrating. During the visit, I got my blood drawn in the adjacent room (within the same facility) as part of the annual preventative tests. In a few days, I received a bill for $500+! I have a very comprehensive insurance and my annual preventative visit co-payment should have only been $20. After some investigation, I realized that they had two separate codes for the "annual visit" and "blood work"- one was under Rush primary clinic and the other was under Rush university. One was covered under my Aetna insurance and the other wasn't! I was neither informed of this during the visit or there was no indication that it could have been different payment codes (the blood draw was adjacent to my doctor's visit room!!!) I called both Aetna and talked to Rush and after much inconvenience and many phone calls, I was able to show that the… codes were erroneous and I don't owe Rush anything more than what my insurance covers. . The billing folks were extremely unpleasant to chat with and did not apologize for the error on their behalf. I am not sure if this is a one time event or something that happens to more - but putting it out there as a warning and as something worth inquiring about before you book the visit. It was extremely inconvenient and the billing issues made the visit definitely not worth it.

Dr Pohlman deserves 6 out of 5 stars. He is an excellent clinician who takes his job very seriously, treats his patients with the utmost respect, he is a very good listener and a great , thorough diagnostician who judiciously applies common sense in the era of ordering unnecessary tests, procedures, etc.

OUTSTANDING

I was referred to Dr. Poulman from a neighbor. I have a complex medical history and he went over everything with me. He spent at least over an hour with me and fully examined me and did blood work for some things that needed to be checked out. He is ver caring and paid attention to everything and did not rush me at all. I would highly recommend him. His staff was very friendly and polite and made the office visit very nice.

I was referred to Dr. Pohlman from a coworker when I had some concerns about my health after my father died young from a heart attack. I left feeling better and was assured my ticker was okay. I recently visited again because it had been a couple years for a check up and I was self-diagnosing based off of the internet. (I know, I know...) He made sure I was confident that I wasn't going to die overnight from my self-diagnosing and he spent a lot of time answering my questions/concerns. Definitely an amazing doctor with great bedside manner! He really seems to care about his patients! I just adore him!

You will be very happy with Dr. Pohlman-very trust worthy and goes beyond the scope of caring.

One of the best doctors I know. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for a great doctor.+
