Dr. Daniel T Williams has the following 2 specialties
- Adolescent Medicine
Adolescent specialists are doctors who have advanced training in the health issues that adolescents face. These physicians deal with issues like the onset of puberty, reproductive health, eating disorders, irregular periods, mood changes, drugs and pressures from home and school. For girls entering adulthood, adolescent specialists can act as both pediatrician and gynecologist, so they only have to see one doctor for all their needs.
A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.

Dr. Williams has been most helpful to me regarding my child’s previous disabling physical symptoms that had been treated ineffectively by previous well-intentioned doctors who did not realize that the underlying problem was psychiatric. As a result of Dr Williams’ treatment, my child’s physical problems have been fully resolved and her emotional health restored, enabling her to return to school after a prolonged absence. Dr Williams conferred with previous treating doctors, reviewed the test results and made sure that we were not missing an undiagnosed physical condition. He identified emotional conflicts that my child, my husband & I did not at first realize needed expert psychiatric treatment. His care was thorough, sensitive, empathic and highly effective. Although I had been referred to Dr Williams by my primary care MD, I hesitated at first, in reading some of the mixed reviews posted here & I asked Dr Williams about them. He noted that in his work as a psychiatrist, he must address problems that some patients and family members can’t acknowledge or won’t address in treatment. These problems may be harmful to the patient or family members. The psychiatrist bringing those issues into active discussion will sometimes lead to anger at the messenger. The fact that Dr Williams has been recognized as a Distinguished Life Fellow by both the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry speaks more loudly to me regarding his reputation among expert colleagues in his field who know his work over the years, than the unsubstantiated criticisms of some disgruntled former patients. I’m delighted that I brought my child to Dr Williams and unhesitatingly encourage others to do the same.
Has no empathy with children, no understanding of adolescents, bores both child and parent by speaking like a mono tone textbook. He grossly overcharges yet provided no help or understanding except to encourage you to come back as much as possible to pay him more. His office staff are extremely rude and incompetent.
As a pediatrician with a large practice, I have known Dr Williams both professionally and personally for over 35 years. The feedback that I have received from the significant number of patients I have referred to him for psychiatric consultation & treatment, has been uniformly favorable, often enthusiastically so. I have known Dr Williams to be extraordinarily well trained as a child and adult psychiatrist, who is empathic, thorough and up to date with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic approaches that he brings to the treatment of his patients. Iâm writing this review because it has come to my attention that the reviews appearing on line about him have ranged from glowingly positive to harshly negative. No physician will cure or please every patient. The writers of defamatory reviews are often reflecting more on their own treatment-resistant psychopathology than on the competence of the clinician they are attacking. I would trust Dr Williams implicitly with the assessment and treatment of any of my patients, without reservation.
