The staff at Phoenix Cardiovascular Institute are genuinely kind, and the testing process itself was very efficient. I completed an echocardiogram and a nuclear stress test in one morning on July 22, with virtually no wasted time. If my experience had ended there, this would have been a five-star review. Before the tests, I was told I could return to normal activity the following week. In addition to being a pastor, I work part-time at Chick-fil-A, where I typically walk or run more than five miles during a shift. Because I had not received my results, I called at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 27, to confirm that returning to that level of activity was still appropriate. I did not receive a call that day. The office called me at 6:02 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28—but by then, I had already returned to work at 6:00 that morning and subsequently spent much of the day in the ER with chest pain and the frightening feeling that I might collapse. The caller told me I could return to work but should… “take it easy.” I explained that it was too late—I was already in the ER. I also told the office that Parkridge could not access any information about my tests, despite its association with my cardiologist. I was then told that the results were not yet available, which surprised me because both tests had been performed in the institute’s office. On July 30, I went to the office in person seeking answers. I was told that the doctor personally reads every report, that mine had not yet been reviewed, and that results could take up to two weeks. My only options were to wait for a call or learn the results at my follow-up appointment on September 24—nearly two months after the tests. Efficient testing means very little when the results remain unread while a patient is experiencing chest pain and ending up in the ER. I canceled my follow-up appointment. Based on my experience, anyone who needs timely answers about a heart condition should consider looking elsewhere.

Dr. Good placed 5 stints in my heart in 2010 which I later found from other cardiologist were unnecessary. Medication would have solved the problem easily. Now 9 years later and thousands were f dollars later on medications and lost work, I am about to have a bypass because of this less than adequate cardiologist. Laws protected him then and he continues to practice, he basically changed my life for the worse for money and I know some day he will get what is coming to him. Oh I know this is slander would prefer to end his career if possible!

The doctor and his staff is very nice

I like Dr. Hood. I chose to switch from another cardiologist to see him. I missed an appointment and they terminated me from the group. It is a shame they chose to have a policy that treats their patients in this manner.
