Dr. Daphne Chana Sack-River, MD

I took my daughter to the clinic to see Dr. Sak River in pediatrics because she had red patches on her skin, and I wasn’t sure what it was. After checking in, they registered her and directed me upstairs. When I got to the 7th floor (the doctor’s floor), the Medical Assistant informed me that my daughter couldn’t be seen unless I provided a picture of the secondary health insurance card (Health First). There are a few key points to consider: 1. The number on the Health First card is the same as the number on the Medicaid card I presented. 2. My daughter is 3 years old and has been coming to this clinic since she was a newborn. 3. She had already been checked in and registered, meaning her insurance had already been cleared. 4. My daughter had visible red spots, which I explained to the Medical Assistant. Despite this, they turned us away, even though my daughter was already registered. I gave her Benadryl, thinking it might be an allergic reaction. A few hours later, my daughter… was rushed to the emergency room. It turned out that the red patches I had mentioned were actually hives. She wasn’t responding well, was vomiting, and the doctors had to administer an EpiPen along with a mix of other medications, which they referred to as a “cocktail.” I’m extremely grateful to the emergency room doctors for saving my baby’s life. I would like the clinic to explain why my daughter was turned away, especially after being properly registered and insured. Why was she refused care? Why was she sent away, despite the visible symptoms? This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

Not enough I can say about this doctor she is AMAZING!!!! and actually cares.

I have been to different pediatricians and no one will ever compare to how she takes care of my 5 daughters. She is the only one that I will ever thrust with their health.

She is a wonderful doctor to my teenager, and has shown a high level of follow up and care during a difficult time.
