Dr. David Montgomery, MD

I was referred to Dr. Montgomery for discomfort following childbirth. At the first visit, he seemed warm and understanding and provided an accurate and helpful diagnosis. I was breastfeeding my 6 month old daughter, and he indicated that I should be able to continue doing so. When I went to fill the prescriptions he gave me, the pharmacist told me that the oral form of the medication he had prescribed was unsafe for nursing women, so I called and had a nurse change the prescription to the topical form. The other medication he prescribed seemed fine, but then my milk supply began to decrease and my daughter's growth slowed. It took about a week for me to realize that the medication was the cause and MUCH longer to get my milk supply back up.When we went back to the follow-up visit with Dr. Montgomery I explained my experience. He was rude and invalidating. He would not accept that our daughter's well-being was more important to us than our sex life and insinuated that we were hurting… our marriage. When I asked him for other possible treatments, he was flippant and he kept saying "you've already tried ..." for things I had never tried, nor had he ever suggested I try.Overall, I would strongly suggest any nursing mother go see another doctor. If you do decide to see him, be prepared to do our research to avoid potential harm to your baby. I will never see him again.

Dr. David Montgomery is exceptionally skilled and courteous. His genuine concern is for his patient. I highly recommend Dr. David Montgomery. He has delivered two of my children and continues to provide me with excellent medical advice and care.
