Dr. David Neal Buchalter, MD

This guy might be a great surgeon/doctor, but the experience I had there accompanying my mother was terrible. She asked me to go with her to confirm some doubts about other pains in her leg prior to a scheduled surgery 8 days from today. The doctor couldn't have been more rude. He seemed upset that we were even there, was dismissive and hurried my mom to ask Direct questions, and even had her get on the exam table and stressed her hip to purpously hurt her to prove a point that she needed surgery. My mom knew that she needed surgery, she was just there to find out what other issues could be causing her pain in a different ligament/tendon. I do not recommend this doctor at all. There are other more compassionate doctors out there that would take 5 minutes to listen and explain.

Dr Buchalter and staff are amazing! As a single mom I had so many worries and now I look back and can honestly say I worried over nothing. From pre-op, surgery, and post-op, I was in the best hands ever. Doc truly is one of the best if not the best in what he does. I had no surprises. Everything went as I was told it would. I had a total knee replacement and scar is minimal which is a blessing compared to some I’ve seen. I have never had a call not returned from his staff. The follow thru care has been amazing. I am 12 weeks post op and have been riding my bike for weeks now! I wouldn’t hesitate a minute to have Dr Buchalter again as my surgeon - I know I will be in the best hands! ????????????????????

Unlike another surgeon who was ready to do a hip replacement on me after 5 minutes of evaluating me, Dr. BUchalter took his time and evaluated the x-ray and then ordered an MRI. He suggested I have a cortisone injection under x-ray (which I did with him) and that surgery for my case was not warranted at this time. It is nice to know there are surgeons who are not ready to cut you open and who are ready to take their time and do what is best for their patients. Thank you Dr. Buchalter for your time and consideration.

Screwed up our mothers hip replacement which needed to be repaired only four months after he did the surgery. She went back to him and he said he did everything correctly. She was still in pain and went to a different surgeon, got an MRI, and it showed the apparatus was not properly installed. Definitely would not recommend the surgeon to anyone. Never even came out after the surgery to tell us what happened. Just went home with no communication that night.

Dr.Buckhalter took time explaining what was going on with my knee. I’m only 63 and I knew going in I had Lyme arthritis that damaged my knee. He was well educated in this type of arthritis and explained how he would proceed with my total knee replacement. He was professional and caring, he conferred with my Lyme dr. Over the phone while I was there! He did the surgery 6 weeks ago and my range of motion is at 90% already. The recovery is what I put into it now. He did his job perfectly and it’s up to me to keep moving! On my drs visits to see him ( I’ve had 2 since my surgery) he is eager to see my X-rays and always has a big smile n handshake for me when he tells me it looks great/ perfect on the X-ray! And I’ve seen them! It’s really amazing!! He is passionate about his work and that’s what you want in a surgeon!! At least I do! I really am very grateful for the great care! He gave me back my leg n my life and I’m able to take care of my disabled son who is a brain tumor survivor! It was getting hard to do that with a limp and a leg that was giving out like a “ rubber crutch”!! But now I’m on the road to recovery!! Slow n steady wins the race!!! And I’m doing it!!And I owe it all to the best Dr.!! ????thank you Dr. Buckhalter!!

When my husband and I met Dr. Buchalter for my consultation for a full knee replacement, we were both Completely impressed for several reasons: Dr. Buchalter explained Clearly and in an Easy to understand manner how his surgery techniques are Advanced in achieving Less pain which results in a Quicker recovery time. Also Dr. Buchalter's Caring and Compassion made us feel so completely at ease, it was as if we were talking with an old friend. The completed end results of my full knee replacement have exceeded our hopes as I had such full mobility of my knee within 24 hours after my surgery that it felt as if I had been Born with the New knee. I had such Amazing results from Dr. Buchalter's advanced techniques that I was at released and back home within 24 hours of my surgery.

referred by a friend. Didnt rush me into surgery but when medication and Therapy failed, he replaced my knee. He told me EXACTLY what to expect and his staff was great. I have no pain and am playing golf 2 months later.

I was lucky enough to be referred to Dr. Buchalter by my internist.However, being that I am someone who likes to check out my doctors reputation,I started asking friends and family members,if they had any recommendations on an excellent orthopedic surgeon. Dr.Buchalter's name repeatedly kept coming up,as the best hip and knee orthopedist.I went to see him, and was greeted by a wonderful staff.Once I was in the exam room, Dr.Buchalter answered all my questions,told me exactly what was going on,and offered me alternative choices for treatment.He recommended medication, cortisone shots, and physical therapy.It helped for awhile.Then I decided it was time for surgery.It was a breeze.My hip feels like new again, and I am now living pain free. I had my knee replaced by a so called superspecialist. It never was right. I saw Dr. BUCHALTER as a second opinion. He figured out what the problem was and performed the second surgery. I had less pain right after the surgery and knew that he had done a great job. Within a month I was back on the golf course. Thanks Dr. B

Dr. Buchalter did an excellent job in giving me a complete knee replacement. He answered all my questions and concerns. Five weeks after surgery I am walking with no pain . Thank You I would highly recommend Dr. Buchalter for anyone needing hip or knee surgery.

I came to Dr Buchalter because of my orthopedist is NY. He treated me with medication and Physical therapy and told me that I could have surgery when I could not walk more than 2 blocks without pain. He replaced my hip from the front. I was walking the next day and went home. I am back to golf and have zero pain. His staff is great and I recommend him to my friend. He also replaced my neighbors knee and she did just as well!

I was limping and saw several other doctors who told me it was my hip, my back or my knee. I saw Dr Buchalter. He did a complete physical and told me the problem was from my hip. He gave me a shot under xray and my pain disappeared. 6 months later he recommended hip replacement. He did it the new way from the front. I walked the next morning and went home in two days with only a cane. I was driving in a week and playing golf in a month. Do not consider going anywhere else.

I am an 81 year old man who got his life back thanks to Dr. Buchalter..Had hip replacement surgery 8 weeks ago.Walking with no cane after 5 weeks, back to the gym after 6 weeks. Hoping for tennis at 10 weeks. The Dr.is thorough and answers questions truthfully. I like him a lot.

Recommended by my neighbor. Dr Buchalter explained the problem and gave me choices. When shots and PT didn't work, he suggested a knee replacement! He answered all my questions. The surgery was better than expected. 3 weeks afterwards I threw away my cane and after 6 weeks I was playing golf. The scar was nearly invisible! Better than my friends who had surgery elsewhere! Don't go elsewhere

I came to Dr. Buchalter after being referred by someone in my development. The office was very professional and Dr. Buchalter explained everything quite clearly. He gave me numerous options and treated my knee conservatively for three months. When it continue to get worse he explained that I could have surgery and there was a very good chance I could have significant improvement. He said I may not be perfect but I would certainly have an excellent chance of being better. He performed a new replacement and in a matter of two weeks I was walking with a cane and in four weeks I was walking without a cane and was in no pain. It's hard to believe that I was suffering for such a long time before Dr. Buchalter save my life. I would recommend everyone to him. He's a great doctor with great bedside manner and his staff is excellent.

I needed a hip replacement. I saw several doctors in the area and had Dr B do my surgery. He spent a lot of time explaining the surgery and did the Anterior Replacement. I went home the day after surgery and threw away the cane in a week. My limp is gone. I cant believe how easy this was. his office was great. They called me in the hospital to check on me and made sure I had everything I needed when I got home. No need to go anywhere else!!
