Dr. David Hicks, MD

Dr Hicks did a bunion surgery on my right foot, first three toes, in 2020. He over corrected my big toe, and cut tendons and nerves in the next two toes, and they are now paralyzed and drop down, so they are always getting caught on carpeting as I’m walking and causes me to fall. Going to get a consult in a different office to see if anything can be done. He screwed the surgery up so bad, that my foot is worse than before the surgery. Would not recommend this Dr at all!

I had a bunionectomy with Dr. Hicks ten years ago .. and my foot is still as good as day one! The incision was small, and the recovery shirt. He did exactly what I wanted and not only does my toe look better, but I still continue to benefit from this surgery. His bedside manner was great! He is kind and has a good sense of humor.

This doctor is one who has made me reconsider using Cox Health altogether. I went in for an appointment with him for surgery consult because his nurse practitioner said I needed surgery and when I saw him, he acted like “I” just wanted it to have it. Turns out his NP wrote her summary this way. He didn’t offer any other solution for the excruciating pain for every step I took, except for physical therapy and emphatically told me he wasn’t going to do surgery for something “so small.”

He's the worst doctor I've ever met in my life! After my hip replacement a tendon came loose. Required 2nd surgery. After 2 years now incision keeps getting infected by suitors left in my incision. Two have surfaced, now a third is about to surface. I refuse to go back to this idiot and I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.......

he is the most uncompassionate doctor I've ever seen in my life and I am 55 years old. he might be fine on a regular insurance. But on a worker's comp he will not listen to what you tell him. treat you like you are some kind of piece of trash because you got hurt at work. I do not recommend this dr. If your comp insurance sends you to him tell them you want someone different

Went to see Dr Hicks for my buions, which supposely he has done many surgeries. I have terrible buions and have been getting worse. I hurt after walking my dogs now. I wanted to see if surgery would help and he basicly told me it would not and I would just have to live with it. He kept saying I wanted it for the wrong reason, to make my feet look better. Well, yeah that would be nice but not only that, I am in pain. So no help from him at all. Waste of time!

Dr. Hicks is one of the worst doctors I have ever had the misfortune to visit. He has very poor bedside manner, and absolutely no compassion for his patients. I would never recommend him to anyone.

The hip replacement surgery failed. I need a hip revision surgery and he has not offered to help me to find someone to do that. I have tried to go to several other specialists but his office will not send a letter of recommendation so my Medicaid will cover it. I hurt and am screwed because he left me the surgery failed, BIG TIME and on top of that, I need the second hip done. I would like to get on with my life, but this is impossible because he won't send me to someone else who can fix it.

My wait time has been well over an hour during every one of the 7 visits I've had. I've had to call into work twice because it took so long-even after scheduling it for 9:30am on a weekday, I had to call into my 1pm shift. Also, my surgery was almost 5 hours behind schedule. I always leave his office upset because I feel so rushed. He only spends a couple of minutes with me during every visit-I literally do not have enough time to think if I have any questions before he's opening the door to leave the room.Dr Hick's nurse Karina is incredibly unpleasant. It is nearly impossible to get a hold of her, and when she gets back to me (days later), she has a horrible attitude. She has literally brought me to tears before from being so snappy on the phone for no apparent reason.I wouldn't recommend this doctor. While my surgery was successful-and I suppose that's what really, truly matters, I am so unsatisfied with his customer service and his nurse that I just can't recommend him to anyone.
