You have one of the best gastroenterologists and endoscopists in the planet. I am not his patient but I am a gastroenterologist and I have known him for more than 20 years. I live on the other side of the country and I do not know if he is hard to get hold or not. If he is, sorry this is the price to be treated by the best doctor on earth.

Dr. Carr-Locke was not my regular gastro doctor. I lived in Putnam County and was diagnosed with gastroparesis. My then gastro doctor and fellow docs in group had no idea what was next for me. NO call backs, no answers NOTHING. I was miserable and in horrible pain with no idea what to do. I knew NYC doctors were the best so I searched for the best and I found him- Dr. Carr-Locke. Was it easy getting appointments and then waiting hours to see him absolutely not, but I wasn't leaving or going away. It was around this time last year that he prescribed the empty study which I failed miserably. He told my about pylorplasty procedure, I said I want it done immediately. He was extremely caring, scheduled me in for next available time, which I got lucky and only had to wait 2weeks. He made it clear it was not a cure but it would help my ailments. He saved me, it worked, took awhile to get back to normal eating but I felt so much better. I am not a diabetic I am 100% sure the gastroparesis came from my lymes disease 100%!! If you are suffering from gastroparesis PLEASE see him and be patient! People who claim he doesn't care just can fathom they are not his only patient. It is NYC he has quite a full day of procedures. Believe me I had my issues with the secretary, playing phone tag but when I look back now it was all worth it!!

Dr Carr-Locke is a master colonoscoper. He was able to successfully remove a sessile polyp that three other physicians had tried and failed....One suggested a resection! He is pleasant and comports himself in a professional manner. Since I am a high colon cancer risk, I am required to have a colonoscopy 1-4 times a year. I have done so for the past five years. Dr Carr-Locke’s prep is as easy as it can be.....I trust him and only fear he may retire some day

Carr-Locke was recommended to me by another GI doc that no longer did colonoscopies. The procedure went ok, or so I thought. Afterwards I was expecting Carr-Locke to speak to tell me how the procedure went, which has been the case in any other procedure I’ve had. I was told while recovering from general anesthesia that I would have to go back into the waiting room, with the general public, to hear how it went. I sat there, feeling groggy, for 20 minutes. Then I was told that he had back to back procedures and they didn’t know when he would be able to talk to me. I told them that I need to know how it went and someone qualified needed to tell me. They said they would have someone call me or I could call his office. I said absolutely not — I have had issue in the past and need to know if they were still there. Finally after another 30 minutes I was able to speak with him. I will never, ever see this doctor again! The way I was treated was unconscionable! And on top of everything, once I got home I had an allergic reaction to the anesthesia! I am still, 2 months after the fact, trying to get a copy of my medical record/anesthesia report to see what they gave me. His office has been supremely unhelpful!

He gives the impression of being highly competent. But trying to get a question to him through his secretary is like trying to get a message through to the president.

This Dr is the gentlest gastroenterologist i have ever encountered. He is so calm and kind along with an intern he had at the time Dr Jason Kim, what a team of professionals, I'm so sorry the insurance I now have doesn't cover this provider. THE BEST.

Dr. David Carr-Locke is one of the finest doctors I have ever seen in my life. Deeply compassionate, an excellent listener and communicator, patient (I never felt rushed) and responded promptly when I reached out to him. One of the best doctors out there for sure, but just as important: a stellar human being.

After taking an elaborate set of blood work for Hep-c treatment, I did not hear from him for about 6 weeks. After persistent calls to his office to find out what was going on, his secretary gets back to me and tells me that he is booked, and that I would have to go see someone else.The question is, why take an elaborate set of blood work if you are not going to do anything with it.I was very angry about that and sent letters to Beth Israel administration voicing my concern, but they to had a deaf ear, because they never responded to my letters, I guess they just didn't give a dam. This is more then 8 months ago.
