Dr. David J. Diaz, MD

Dr. David Diaz is an ophthalmologist who specializes in comprehensive eye care with advanced training in glaucoma treatment. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine internship at Pennsylvania Hospital in 2006. Dr. Diaz then pursued ophthalmology residency training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, finishing in 2009, followed by specialized fellowship training in glaucoma at Tufts University's New England Medical Center in 2013. With over two decades of experience in eye care, he is fluent in eight languages including English, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Vietnamese, Chinese, French, and Somali.

Dr. Diaz practices at the University of Vermont Medical Center, seeing patients at both the main campus location in Burlington and the Tilley Drive office in South Burlington. His clinical expertise focuses on managing glaucoma and open-angle glaucoma, along with cataract care. He performs comprehensive eye exams, vision …tests, and visual field testing to diagnose and monitor various eye conditions. This combination of specialized training and broad language capabilities allows him to serve a diverse patient population throughout Vermont.
