Went into the ER for an open compound fracture on my wrist/arm and was assigned Dr. Fabian. Surgery was performed and a plate was screwed into one of my bones. I only had two follow-up appointments with Dr. Fabian. I complained about pain in different areas both times especially on the second/last appointment I had concerning the other bone in my arm. With out looking at x-rays again, Dr. Fabian assured me that it is normal because all the bones and tendons were moved around. I was told this should be expected and that everything looked fine. Dr. Fabian said that there were no more apparent reasons for another follow up. I was told by Dr. Fabian that physical therapy referrals will be submitted both times we met and I specifically requested a submission for pt at the second appointment being I never recieved the first referral. After being assured that pt would be submitted, I never recieved a referral, therefore never recieved a single day of pt for my wrist/arm break. Now the outside bone at my wrist can pop in and out of place while making a knuckle crack noise, the outside bone on my wrist sits unusually high, the inside bone at my wrist pokes out toward the side, I struggle with constant discomfort and pain at the break point, and my tendons/ligament grind whenever I bend my wrist. I will say that Dr. Fabian was incredibly nice and courteous, unfortunately that does not do much for my wrist/arm and my current outlook. I have made and am eagerly awaiting a second opinion appointment that I will have in a week. I've had numerous surgeries, breaks, and another break that required surgery; I have never had this bad of an experience with a surgery and the recovery. I honestly am worried that at 33 years old this botched handling of my injury is going to plague me for the rest of my life. I would highly recommend to select another surgeon if you have an option.
Dr. Fabian has been a Godsend for me. This woman has the patience of Job. I've seen her for knee injections until I am ready for my total knee replacement. She has helped me when others just put me off without doing anything to ease my pain. Dr. Fabian is understanding and doesn't mine explaining what she plans on and how things will be done to you.
This doctor never even looked at the medical information I gave this doctor. I am in heart failure, have ICD pacemaker, diabetes. When I told this doctor he could not operate on me, he was socked because this doctor knew he couldn't operate on me. This doctor is frightening and I strongly advise getting second opinion after you see this doctor.
I Typed a long review it would not let me post saying profanity not allowed but I did not use any profanity?? I even deleted the term transgender, etc still didn't let me post. Bad experience, rude doctor, left me feeling stunned. someone at this website must be protecting this doctor because I was not allowed to explain my situation.
Dr Fabian has done a number of procedures on members of my family and, most telling, has advised against surgery an equal number of times in spite of surgery being recommended by other local doctors. to this day I have to agree that Dr. Fabian was correct in each instance. The injuries he said would resolve themselves without knife, resolved themselves without a knife and the ones that required surgery he undertook the procedure with steady hand and forthright explanation. Rather you know what is going to happen, what may happen then to be surprised. We are definite supporters of Dr Fabian.
