Dr. David Grant Stewart, MD

Great doctor. After my son broke his wrist, we went to another doctor who recommended surgery. We then went to Dr. Stewart and he recommended cast treatment without surgery. He explained everything well. My son's wrist healed and straightened with time and now he is playing sports again. We appreciated Dr. Stewart's conservative approach. Criticisms: One time the receptionist was a bit gruff, and on two occasions we had to wait more than half an hour. On most visits everything was very smooth with brief waiting times.

Their billing practices borders on the illegal. They took a $550 payment up front because they claimed our insurance told them to do so. But when we got the EOB, it was mostly paid by insurance, leaving us a credit of almost $500. They wouldn't issue refund until treatment was completed. After one more visit he was done. That visit showed a $50 copay so we were owed over $400. I called again and they tell me it will be another 4 weeks before I will get my money back. ABSURD!

Great surgical skills but no people skills. Rude office staff

Dr Stewart and his staff were all very kind and caring during my son's visit to the office, it was the first fracture for my child and I was very nervous, but everyone there put that to rest as soon as we entered the office. The dr really spent alot of time going over everything with my husband and I. We were very happy to have been treated so great. I would recommend this office to all.

my child has clearly stated he will not have any random doctor look at his ankle, dr. stewart is the only dr he will have treat him no matter what his injury is.

Dr Stewart took the time to get a full medical record for my child before diagnosing and explained all treatment options to my husband and I clearly. He was very thorough, took his time, and we agreed with his opinion. He seems very conservative with his approach, only suggesting surgery if absolutely necessary. My husband and I are very comfortable with putting our child in his care. I would definitely recommend him.

Simply put... Dr Stewart performed 3 surgeries on my son for a broken femur and ready to perform a 4th... the 4th surgery was to insert antibiotic beads to help with his infection (which was supposedly the reason for a non-union - the bone was not healing) and some graphing material to help it fuse. I found another doctor who did extensive tests and found NO infection even remained at the fracture sight... So Dr Stewart would have cut into my son for the wrong reason to perform surgery. ON TOP of that the surgeon also found that Dr Stewart set my sons leg with a plate and screws off by 31 degrees (of which I understand that only 5 degrees is acceptable) His leg was facing 31 degrees the wrong way!!!!! I'm still unsure why Dr Stewart would make such an error. My son was already developing arthritis in his hip as a result of the way his femur had been set by Dr Stewart.Not once did Dr Stewart follow up with me or my son to see how he was (he could have LOST his leg).I would NEVER… recommend Dr Stewart to perform surgery on my child or anyone else's for that matter... he showed with our situation complete incompetence and lack of caring, and was willing to let a bad situation get even worse.The only stars he is awarded if for his office staff....
