Did I make an appointment with a doctor or one of his many physician's assistants?

I am going to be requiring a knee replacement and went to see this doctor. The first appointment went well and I felt very comfortable with his expertise. The subsequent appointments, however, weren't so favorable. He sent me for physical therapy and my condition worsened. I went back and was seen by a physician's assistant. She was rude and unsympathetic to my pain. They removed fluid and have me a cortisone shot. That helped for one day. The next appointment I became quite frustrated because I was no better three months later. Again I saw yet another physician's assistant. She was nice but was unable to do anything because she is not a doctor. I asked to see the doctor and she informed me that the doctor was not in the office. I can appreciate that the physician's assistant can perform the administrative and simple functions that doctors ordinarily do but when you make an appointment with a doctor you should see the doctor at some point in your visit. The next appointment I asked the receptionist if the doctor was in because I wanted information that only a doctor could provide. She informed me that I would have to wait longer if I wanted to see the doctor. I waited almost an hour to see him. When he came in the room his demeanor was almost as if I was bothering him. I told him that I am frustrated because I can't do anything and have to rely on medication to be able to walk. He asked, "what do you want to do?" I said I want to be able to walk without pain or requiring medication. He said at some point in your life you will need a replacement but left the decision to me. I don't feel qualified to determine when the appropriate time should be. I feel as though a doctor who perfoms a surgery of this magnitude should take the time to acquaint himself with his patients. Even if he uses a physician's assistant the patient should see the same physician's assistant every time. I feel like a sheet of paper in a ream.

Improper treatment

I had seen this doctor regarding a broken wrist and he treated me for six months before he decided I should see a specialist. In some technicality, I believe that doctor Mendelson negligently treated my injury. He put me in three casts for 2 months each, hoping for a union and in turn causing me long term irreparable damage. The specialist I saw told me that because of his prolonged attempt in treatment, I had permanently lost about 20% of mobility in my wrist. My experience was probably the worst case scenario and hope that no one else has to ever go through this. Hopefully he's a better doctor since I last saw him.

BAD DOCTOR

I SAW MENDELSON WITH WHAT HE CALLED A SLIGHT FRACTURE,AND HE GAVE ME INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT I SHOULD DO. I CAME BACK FOR A FOLLOW UP VISIT,AND HE SAID THE FRACTURE WAS MUCH WORSE,AND NEEDED SURGERY.I WENT TO ANOTHER DOCTOR AND HE PUT ME IN AN AIR CAST....NO SURGERY!! I'M RECOVERING FINE.IF MENDELSON WOULD HAVE PUT ME IN THE AIR CAST IN THE FIRST PLACE,NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED.
