Summary
Working in emergency medicine requires the continuous process of matching the needs of the patient with what can be provided in an emergency setting. I like interacting with all types of patients and working with other healthcare providers to improve outcomes. The overall patient care experience is very important to me.
I’ve always worked in emergency medicine. It’s part of who I am as a person. I guess I’m just lucky to have picked a specialty I love.
When I’m not working or with my family, I am a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. Ten years were spent with the Minnesota Guard, and I am currently completing my seventh year with the Wisconsin Guard. I’ve also had four deployments to Iraq.
