Dr. David Bishop, MD

If he screws up, he doesn’t come back to own up to what he has done. He is a doctor wth a bad history. He doesn’t seem to care.

I was a high-risk mama with both my kids. The first time I had Pre-Eclampsia and the second I had Gestational Diabetes. With the first one, my son had the cord wrapped around his neck. Every time I had a contraction, the cord would tighten around my baby's neck. At the same time, my blood pressure dropped so low I was fading. Dr. Bishop made the call to do an emergency c-section and saved us both. The second one he kept an eye on me and we worked together to keep my blood sugars down almost until the time I had my daughter. Then I went on shots and he monitored me and the baby closely. I was on bed rest for over a month with the first time (came a month early) and the second one also came early due to loss of amniotic fluid. Is he perfect? Probably not. But he was perfect for our family and every time I look at my two healthy kids I am grateful that he was my doctor. Families in Salem are lucky to have him.

Bishop is the worst doctor I ever had!! He doesn’t care about his job. He ruined me and then abandoned me. His colleagues had to rescue me over and over wth my ongoing stay for 6 mo at the hospital! This was 8 yrs ago and I still cringe thinking about everything tht happened. I’m still having difficulties due to his sloppiness. His colleagues are the ones who helped me over and over again. They couldn’t even get ahold of him! A year later I find out he did the same thing to another woman back in 1998. It’s sad he just keeps getting away wth his sloppiness. So many wrong things that were done to me by him.I hope Karma gets him!! I might have all been diff if he just cared but tht was the issue, he didn’t bother to care! Now I see tht he moved to Salem. Right about the same time my lawyers were asking for my records from his office. I see some of the other doctors left too! I remember a couple of his colleagues were upset wth him bcuz he wasn’t answering his phone to come help me.… Horrible doctor! I should have stayed wth Mcneely!

I have been a patient of Dr. Bishop for over 25 years. He has taken excellent care of me, be is kind, compassionate, listens to his patient. He is absolutely the best.

My son's heart rate kept dropping during my induction. From the start baby and I weren't reacting to the meds...... we were watched carefully and we received exceptional care. When things took a dangerous turn, Dr. Bishop acted immediately and performed an emergency cesarean on me at 3am. He potentially saved my son's life. I was very scared as he was exceptionally kind and attentive. Thank you Dr. Bishop for everything you did for my baby and I. -A. Luster and baby Elijah (delivered 7-2-2017)

Have been a patient for 20 years. Dr. Bishop has done my hysterectomy and taken great care of me.

After moving to a new city I needed to establish an OBGYN provider to oversee some ongoing issues and prepare for starting a family in the next 12-18 months. I made an appointment with Dr Bishop in which I was met with nothing but confusion (I don't understand why you're here today?) and dismissal (ruptured ovarian cysts don't cause enough pain to necessitate a prescription). I left quite put off and have since found another provider.

Dr. Bishop has always had a good bedside manner and seems kind. However, I am completely baffled as to why I have been seeing him for six months with persistent postmenopausal bleeding (that has been going on for two years), and he has never once performed a pelvic exam on me. The only pelvic ultrasounds I have ever had were ordered in the emergency room. He recently performed a hysteroscopy with D&C. When the pathology came back benign, I asked him to give me a hysterectomy anyway because I was just fed up. He declined and said the bleeding shouldn't be a problem anymore. Well, it is six weeks later and I have watery bleeding again. I am seven years post menopause. Don't know where to go from here but I may have to get a second opinion. I hate to bash him on this site because he seems so kind but I am unsure of his expertise at this time, because of my persistent symptoms.
