Dr. David Larry Estep, MD

I'm amazed by the honest comments made regarding Dr. Estep. I can vouch from first hand experience that Dr. Estep is a fake, a liar, a manipulator. I trusted Dr. Estep. He was my psychiatrist for more than 10 years. Maybe something changed in his personal life, but he started stereotyping me. Warned me not to come on his business property. Made false statements in my chart and when it was brought to his attention, he remained silent and refused to correct. He got my treatment mixed up with an close associate of mine who was also receiving treatment from him. Would not take my phone calls or allow his staff to complete my forms. I begged for his attention. I can relate to all but the sexual allegations. This man is sick and corrupt. Self righteous. Holier than thou. Something changed Dr. Estep. He was not always dishonest. Stay away from him. He picks to get a negative reaction from you. Told me to look for treatment in Montgomery or Columbus, because no one in Lee County would… touch my case. He scarred my computerized records at East Alabama Medical Center

I was his patient and knew him for 7 years. Sexually abused me. Superficially caring. Complete garbage doctor. Stay away from this guy if you value your safety.

Being investigated for criminal sexual activity. Abused his patient. Avoid for your own safety.

I have seen DR. DAVID ESTEP JR for over 9 YEARS!!! He treated my mental health. The medication he prescribed helped out 100%. He was a Expert on giving advice. I always left my follow-up with a great attitude.. I left positive, motivated, and happy!!! Too bad he's gone. There is no one like him. I can tell him everything about myself. Now, since he's not at East Alabama Psychiatric services; Ms. Whitaker took me off all my medication, wanted to cage me like a animal!! I now have severe withdrawl symptoms. I was taking anxiety medication for over 35 years; and abrubtly taken off..........

David Estep is guilty of committing sexual misconduct with a patient and a coworker. He is not a safe person and should be avoided at all costs.

Refuses to speak with me directly, refuses to find out the background of the patient and refuses to do a proper evaluation. Had to go elsewhere for my child in crisis. Was even told to never allow her to go back to EAMC

I had a long expensive stay where he was the attending. My physical illness went unrecognized and I was given drugs that made it worse. I lost everything over this hospitalization.

When I first met Dr. Estep, I was at a very low point in my life. I found him to be very friendly and concerned about my well-being. He actually cares about his patients. I have never felt rushed or like I was just number. When I needed help, I called him, and he always returned my calls. What is most memorable about Dr. Estep is the fact that he give his patients a lot of attention during each visit. I will tell anyone that Dr. Estep is one of the finest psychiatrists in the Opelika/Auburn area.
