Dr. David Leonard Schneider, MD

The staff is courteous and friendly and it's a fairly clean place. Doctor Schneider has a decent bedside manner and mostly listened to what I had to say but did not spend much time talking to me. I mainly talked with the nurses and for the second visit I saw a nurse practitioner. I had allergy testing done here because I was suffering terribly from what I knew was allergies but after testing I was told I was not allergic to anything. So then I ended up going to an ENT doctor and underwent a barrage of testing to find out why I had post-nasal drips, itchy watery eyes, stuffy ears, etc. this went on for about 8 months to no evail. I finally moved out of state and was tested again by another allergist whom found I was allergic to 17 different things including cats and dogs. Now obviously I was allergic to cats and dogs when I was tested by dr. Schneiders nurse because I worked around these animals and felt horrible at work, but I tested negative at their office. Now I've been… getting allergy shots and feel a whole lot better. I would suggest that they find nurses who actually know how to do allergy testing correctly. I wouldn't have had to waste my time and money going to an ENT and feeling horrible for so long.

Logistics of the appointment were great. I didn't have to wait. Staff is very courteous. His diagnosis was correct in the first visit. My second visit, he completely dismissed other symptoms (probably unrelated but due to autoimmune disease in my family, I wanted him to be aware of) and said that it was probably due to the meds my psychiatrist was giving me. He said he thought my psych was prescribing me too much medicine and that I was just "doped up". I was shocked that a physician would say something so horrible to a patient, especially not knowing the extent of my psychiatric history. He also had the nerve to say that after it was discovered that Dr. Schneider forgot to submit my presciption to the pharmacy. When it was time to do a physical examination, he said to let him check me out although he didn't really know what he was needing to look for. (which I perceived as "nothing is wrong with you.") He may be great for patients that have strictly an established asthma,… sinus or allergy problem because I do not doubt his knowledge or qualifications. If the issue is unknown or extends beyond that, I say visit and/or ask questions at your own risk because the bedside manner is not good.

After bering away at college for several years, upon returnin g home, my allergies went crazy. I began allergy shots with Dr. Schneider and my allergies improved drastically. Down to earth MD, pleasant office staff.
