Dr. David Mitchell Gold, MD

While I like Dr. Gold, the sticker shock from the bill is staggering. I have a high deductible health care plan, so I wind up paying most of the charges. The professional fees were reasonable after the insurance company discount, but then they tack on a “clinical charge” of around $250 because his offices are in Good Samaritan Hospital, which by the way, it is not, though there is an affiliation. My total bill was $470. Can’t afford to pay this for every appointment.

DUD---> Wife went there got told they took our insurance, sets the reservation 1 month in advance .....gets there after taking the kids out from school ....THEY DIDNT take our insurance (AETNA !!)...best part is i called to confirm they do take it and got told the same thing....YES WE take it...got put on hold for 26 minutes only to GET PATCHED IN TO ANOTHER PATIENT WHO WAS WAITING ON HOLD FOR 20 MINUTES...me and patient had a conversation about whether these were good doctors....I wont ever bother to find out its a perma-hold for 20 minutes minimum!!

This doctor's office has deceptive billing practices. I went in for a typical office visit at his office in Deer Park (not the hospital). Instead of paying a usual copay, this doctor now bills the same way a doctor bills if we saw him at the hospital itself which goes against my deductable and coinsurance. Office claims they had "signs up" stating this deceptive practice. No such signs. Susan the manager was totally useless in helping me sort this out. So instead of having a $40 bill, I had a $225.14 bill. I filed numerous complaints against the hospital, no answer. No choice but to warn other patients of this so they don't get stuck with a huge bill.

By far one of the best physicians for pediatric gastroenterology out there. Highly recommended on all aspects

Dr. Gold is beyond fantastic. I'm a patient of his with IBD. He takes the time to explain things to you and doesn't rush you out of the office. He answers any questions you have for him and calls you back personally if you'd like, and has gone out of his way to help me and my family and with treating me and winning my battle with IBD. As a result, Dr. Gold is an amazing doctor, and I would certainly recommend him to any parent looking for a Pediatric Gastroenterologist. Thank you, Dr. Gold!!!

Dr.Gold is an awesome caring doctor

Dr. Gold switched his opinion on me many times, at times saying I was perfectly healthy, and then bringing up serious issues. Very difficult to get in contact with, schedule appointments. Switched doctors, got a proper diagnosis in just a few months. Overall very poor service.

He said he believed my condition could be serious, ran a few generic tests, then I never heard from him again.

Been questioning my childs problems since day one. Kept being told not to worry. Turns out was mis diagnosed. He is quick with appt, doesnt listen, doesnt return calls, pushed you off to his NP, who also does not return calls. I will nwever go back!

I was just looking up Dr Gold's phone number to refer him to a friend, and I came across this survey. Almost 3 years ago, I brought my 4 week old son in to see Dr Gold. He was absolutely wonderful... very patient and thorough.. I was very pleased! Thank you so much Dr Gold!
