He is a very caring doctor. Spends time listening and also very good at explaining health conditions and answering medication questions.

I was a patient of Dr. Shein for a couple of years. While he seems like a perfectly competent physician, his billing practices seem pretty aggressive. After two episodes of receiving a bill that bore little resemblance to the services rendered in my visit, I ultimately decided to move onto another GP. It's also worth mentioning that while it has nothing to do with Dr. Shein himself, the support staff in his office is a mixed bag. Some are very professional and knowledgeable, others much less so. Finding a good physician is such pain, but on the basis of my multi-year relationship with Dr. Shein, I would probably advise a friend to keep looking.

I am not one to leave bad reviews, but Dr. Shein was not helpful at all for me. He was my PCP when I moved to Boston and was having numerous health issues. His solution was put me on anxiety medication. Dr. Shein never tried to run blood tests, etc. I switched doctor's because he never tried to figure out what was going on, turns out I had a way more serious condition NOT related to anxiety at all.

I am a patient of Dr. Shein at Mt. Auburn Hospital - he has been my internist since my longtime and excellent family doctor, Maury Martin, retired. Dr.Shine is very smart, well ready, and thoughtful -- he is first rate. There is only one "downside" -- his periodic work on a very specific health problem that I have. He invariably understands the problem well and his recommended course is always correct. But once in a while he seems a bit too brusk. I would recommend Dr. Shein as one of the best internists i have every had.

I can say by far that this is the best PCP I've ever had. He always makes time for me right away when I have to make an urgent appointment. He is extremely prompt, but doesn't rush me in and out. I would recommend him to anyone, and I was shocked to see that some people left poor reviews.
