The first visit requires some paperwork, but you can do this ahead of time. I like that I can schedule my appointment thru the website and fill out the paperwork beforehand. The doctor is wonderful and didn't seem rushed. He came recommended to me by a friend and I was not dissatisfied.

I found Dr. Michalak online through my insurance as a covered General Practitioner. I needed a basic annual check up. When I arrived for my initial visit, I was greeted by a woman (smelling of cigarette smoke) saying; "There is a tall man in front of me and I am scared." No hello or inquiry of my name or why I was there. After being taken to the back I had a nurse try twice to take my blood poking both arms. When I met the doctor, he insisted I do extra testing after sharing with him previous medical history. I asked if it would be ok to have records sent over instead of doing more testing so he would have a baseline and he asked why. I explained I didnt want to do any unnecessary testing if possible for cost reasons and he explained if I cant "handle $17" then that is fine with an attitude. Then they attempted to charge me for my visit without running my insurance to see that it was covered. Several days later I received my blood test results and the nurse insisted I do an… ultrasound without waiting for extra test results that she requested without my persmission. I informed her I wanted to wait 3 days for the results before doing extra as the results would give me the answers that were needed. She became angry, kept interrupting me, said the results wouldnt make sense to me now when minutes before it would when I was considering the ultrasound. I had to finally insist we wait after speaking with her three times and telling her I didnt appreciate being forced into a situation. I waited more than 3 days without hearing from them. I called twice leaving messages both times and after a week and a half without hearing anything, proceeded to go to the office to get my "URGENT" test reuslts back which apparently werent so urgent anymore after I chose to wait for the results first prior to extra testing. They were incredibly rude. The woman at the front said "please dont get me fired" after I simply asked for a copy of my records. Very weird. They finally verbally told me my results and insisted payment if I wanted a copy. They tried to get me to come back to the office to discuss only to get a office payment. I told them that was unnecessary and they became even more rude and refused to provide me with what I was asking. This office is incredibly unprofessional, financially motivated and do not care about putting the patient first. I have been ignored, I have been manipulated into doing more testing when it was unnecessary and anytime I tried to get clarification on anything I was treated as if that wasnt their job and I wasnt a patient at all. All my testing came back normal and was found no ultrasound was even needed. This shows just how unnecessary everything was. I will never recommend this practice to anyone. Amazingly, these are the people we trust to take care of us and help us with any medical concerns. However, they use our lack of knowledge to receive financial gain all while having a superior attitude.

The wait to be put in a room was not bad. The wait for the doctor was excellent. The wait for an injection was terrible. I waited at least 15 to 20 minutes for her to come and she never did. I decided because the doctor said it was my choice for the injection that I would now choose to NOT get it. So I walked out the room. The staff in the front office was very nice. I said I have been waiting for a shot for about 15 or 20 minutes now and he said it was optional so now I am opting to not have it. The nurse said oh sorry. I did not know you wanted a shot. Well I did not just want a shot. I wanted the injection to help me get better. She said oh well I can give it to you right now. I said it is ok. But please do not charge me for it and left.

I came in because I have a cough; he sent me to get Xrays, but never called me back to tell me what I should do or if I need a specialist

We use Dr. Michalak for our general family medical needs. He is an outstanding listener and has taken extremely good care of our family's medical needs. If something is more severe, Dr. Michalak responds immediately with the appropriate attention and referral care. I recommend him highly.
