Dr. David Cooper has the following 2 specialties
- Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine
An osteopath is a physician who is trained in the philosophy of osteopathic medicine. These doctors have a D.O. degree which stands for Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, as opposed to M.D. for Medical Doctor.
Osteopathic medicine differs from conventional medicine, which is sometimes referred to as allopathic medicine, in that they incorporate a type of manual therapy called Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) into their treatment in which they manipulate the spine in order to relieve pain when other methods have not been successful. This is reflective of the philosophical difference between the two types of physicians; osteopaths are trained to treat the body as a whole in the belief that the body is structured with the ability to heal itself while medical doctors treat specific illnesses or symptoms.
Overall, osteopaths and medical doctors in the US are both equally qualified to treat patients and they work in the same settings and provide the same treatments.
- Orthopedic Surgery
An orthopaedic surgeon is a physician who specializes in diagnosis and surgical treatment of injuries and disorders involving the musculoskeletal system, such as hip replacements and arthroscopic knee surgery.
In addition to treating trauma to the musculoskeletal system, these doctors also deal with sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors and congenital disorders.

Dr. Cooper spent more time with me than any other surgeon. He clearly showed me what was wrong with my knee on his real time ultasound computer and recommended no surgery. I am now completely better with some injections and therapy and I didn't need to miss any time from my job as a flight attendant. I also model part time and now I can walk the runway with no pain. i am very grateful to Dr. Cooper and his staff for seeing me no promptly and getting me better.
My experience with Dr. Cooper was outstanding. He spent an immense amount of time talking with me to find out my background on how the knee injury developed along with what flares the pain and examined it using new technology ultrasound- which I have never had! He also explained a treatment plan along with options in very understandable terms. Dr. Cooper honestly embodies what every person in the health care field should display, care, attention and a personalized approach to what I came in for. Not only am I a patient but I have extensive experience in the health care field from an educational and formal work place standpoint and could without doubt say that I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a better, less invasive and comprehensive look into solving their pain. The office wait was less than 5 minutes and I was able to book an appointment for 3 days after my initial phone call. Disclaimer: I always read reviews but never, ever write reviews for anything...I felt it was necessary after receiving such quality care to let others know!
