The patient who arrives in the Emergency Department (ED) can expect prompt attention and frequent reassessments from me as their physician. I like to communicate to my patients what they can expect during their time in the ED. Since we use cutting-edge technology and have access to extensive computerized health records and clinical information, patients can expect to receive expert and compassionate care.
About Me
Emergency medicine is a unique specialty in that I am faced with diagnostic challenges every day. As a practitioner in this field I have the privilege of meeting all kinds of patients - infants, teenagers, middle-aged, elderly, and even pregnant patients. Each patient arrives with different medical issues, and the challenge of emergency medicine is to determine the diagnostic possibilities. It is the ultimate in problem-solving. The best thing of all however, is the very real possibility that on any given day, I may have the …opportunity to literally save a life.
I’m glad I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente. We have a culture focused on preventive medicine and early intervention. I like the emphasis on wellness and the availability of primary care to our members. Clinically, I have an interest in emergency ultrasound.
I am a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, and American Academy of Emergency Medicine.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, biking, and discovering new restaurants and new recipes. I am a member of a church in Walnut Creek. I have a working knowledge of medical Spanish.
