Despite me mentioning that my lymph nodes are swelling on just a single side of my neck, he did care. He actually never mentioned it. If I could get a single word in between his incessant yapping about how I could never lose weight without drugs or surgery, I would've told him that my lymph nodes are swelling up so big that it looks like I have a hot wheels car under my jaw when it's at its worst. Once again, I will reiterate that I saw him to get treatment for hashimoto's disease, not weight loss. I've had so many doctors (especially male ones) disrespect me but his narcissistic mannerisms and attitude were it for me. I will not be paying for this appointment when all this jack*ss did was waste my time. This male shouldn't be anywhere in the medical field because clearly he just likes to feel smarter to everyone around him because he's a pathetic narcissist. He also denied that I… was diagnosed by a mental health professional with an eating disorder in my past because I "looked" normal at the time! Imagine being so inept and out of touch with modern medicine that you fit a literal stereotype that actual professionals are trained to not be like! Loved being talked down to for an hour straight by some self absorbed male that doesn't know a single thing about me but thinks his arrogance is enough to gaslight me into questioning my own reality. Go to literally any other doctor!!

Disregards or doesn’t read patient history including the medications they are already taking. When corrected becomes combative and accuses you of lying. His staff soothes and promises weight loss medication that your insurance won’t cover if you stuck with him. This is medical care?

Waited months to see Dr. Rometo. I was, so sick I could barely walk. I was bed bound most of my days from an illness that came on pretty suddenly. When I had my appointment with him he was arrogant and talked over me. He told me I was looking for attention and thinks I had a mental problem seeking medical attention. He did a couple of tests and sent me home. He even had the nerve to contact my other doctors and tell them I was faking being sick. I was so upset I couldn't stop crying and felt defeated I honestly felt I was going to die I was so sick. . He completely dismissed me and missed my diagnosis which was later found by a competent endocrinologist at allegheny general that I had severe hypopituitarism with adrenal insufficiency, human growth hormone deficiency and hypothyroid. My pituitary gland did not work. I almost died. Dr. Rometo needs his license revoked and put in jail for. Medical malpractice.

My experience wasn't bad, but wasn't successful. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto and when I would express my concerns he would remind me that he has it also and it never bothered him going through medical school. So if he can do it so can I. I felt so ashamed that I didn't know how to manage my fatigue. The last time I had an appointment, Dr Rometo asked if I do reviews on doctors and I said not really... He asked me to give him a good one and I said yes (what else would I say) and then he said I am not going to see you again since there is nothing wrong. You can see your family physician. I said I don't want to and he said you have on choice. So I went to check out and surprise, I had a dismissal letter waiting for me. Wow! So to sum it up ... I felt belittled and he didn't listen to a word I said. As long as you agree with him you are good with him. I guess we didn't see eye to eye. Good luck to anyone with Hashimoto and expresses fatigue. Listen to your patience.

I have been under the care of this doctor for several years. With each visit I left wondering if I was not expressing my concerns correctly. My last visit was when I knew I needed to find some one new. I voiced my worries on a elevated test result that could lead to diabetic complications. The questions were dismissed and the other tests completed were never reviewed. The instructions for continuing care have created more problems then solutions.

Would not recommend this doctor. Was reckless in his behavior to adjust my medication. Doubled it, instead of inch it up slowly, which caused me some major problems. Staff is rude and hard to get appts and phone calls returned.
