Dr. David Samuel Shaw, DO

I saw Dr Shaw when he was with Northshore. He was the only one I didn't care of, so naturally he was on call when I went into labor. He delivered one of my children. He's goofy, but the delivery was fine. The problem came when it was time to repair a tear. He did a terrible job stitching me up. I did not heal properly and was in pain until I had a second child and another doctor successfully repaired his work. Night and day difference in quality of work. It pain for 2 years vs 2 days with the same tear.

I began to see Dr Shaw 14 years ago and since then he has been one of the best and the most caring doctors I have ever had. He saved my daughter's life during delivery and he did a couple of surgery on me he as easy as a breeze. He has always been fully attentive to my need. My daughter who is 13 now, wants to become an OBGY just because of him! It is just sad and heart breaking when I read these reviews. I only wished that he didn't move his practice this far! Love you, Dr. Shaw!

Dr. Shaw did my tubal ligation after my cesarean and that was 8 years ago and since then I have been pregnant 5 times. When I call the office to speak to him about it my phone calls were never returned

He and his partners are awesome. The practice is so friendly!

Great doctor when we found out that he was no longer with Northshore we wasn't happy because he is one of the best doctors GOD bless you dr. Shaw and thank you for all great work you did.

Love Dr. Shaw. He's an excellent Doctor with a pas son for what he does. He cares about his patients and takes time getting to know them. He recently changed practices, and I will definitely be following him to his new location.

I don't understand those horrible reviews, Dr. Shaw has been my doctor for a long time, and my experience with him has always been the best, he listened to what you have to say, he's very knowledgeable, he treats you with respect, and for me HE IS THE BEST. I had a partial hysterectomy done by him, and it was a breeze, best surgery I have had done. Always a pleasure to be treated by him knowing you are in good and expert caring hands.

He is a great doctor! Doesn't beat around the bush, honest, straight to the point. He delivered 2 of my children, made the delivery a breeze and was there for advice and followups. Highly recommended! Also, Dr. Ashby was one of my rotating doctors during pregnancy, and she really went above and beyond. Great team!

I was very shocked on the reviews for Dr. Shaw. My insurance changed and I could no longer see my previous dr. Which honestly was fine because they put me under a lot of stress and had gotten pregnant after a miscarriage. Dr shaw saw me on a Saturday. He listened to my history of delivering twins at 27 weeks and having to have a surgical procedure last month after my miscarriage. He related some things he's experienced with his family and getting pregnant. I was so stressed and worried and within 5 min he had me calm and positive. He reassured me and honestly I didn't think I could feel so happy about my new pregnancy. He isn't about billing your insurance for nothing. He even told me we would wait to do an ultrasound because it was no needed. I wasn't suppose to get my blood results till Monday and on a Sunday he called me to tell me my blood results. You could tell he cared enough to call to reassure me my levels were good. So I would recommend him to anyone and I don't understand… these horrible reviews.

While I don't see him for appointments (I visit another dr. in the office), I had the displeasure of having to interface w/him when I needed an urgent refill on the weekend. Not only was he extremely rude and unprofessional, but he lacked knowledge on the prescription I needed to fill. He didnt listen to what I was asking and instead began screaming at me saying call back on Monday. I think that if you choose to be a doctor knowing the amount of work and stress that it takes, that you should expect to have to deal w/every kind of patient and every kind of problem AND that you go into the practice knowing that you have to work weekends. I don't appreciate a doctor treating me like my problem is not important b/c his problem that he is currently dealing with (and the obvious ego that is too big for his head and obviously the rest of his body) is far more important than anything going on w/me. If he had listened to me, instead of screaming at me and acting like I'm an idiot, he would have… saved his precious time. He even had the nerve to use the reference I'm not on a beach somewhere etc., like I am. How could I be when I have $500 office visits and $300/monthly prescriptions?!? He needs to learn how to have a bedside manner unless that means being a jerk and then he is perfect. Don't deal w/him ever!!! I'm calling and complaining on Monday to my doctor about him. How he treated me was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. Avoid him for any appointment, follow up, prescription, and definitely when he is on call. He is a sad excuse for a human being and takes out his stress on patients.
