Dr. David Stamer, MD

I also give Dr. David Stamer not a 5 but a 10 plus. I had two knee replacements and the plus would be for his personality and bedside manner. He and his staff are very kind and personable. They tell you what to expect and have a sense of humor. Dr. Stamer’s smile makes you feel like you’ve known him your whole life. I would recommend him 100 per cent to anyone who would need a “Top Notch” Doctor/Surgeon. So if you are still a skeptic, I say don’t be, place your call to the best Doctor you’ll find right here in the Hudson Valley

Recently (2022) had total knee replacement (Jan-left knee/Mar. right knee). My experience with Dr. Stamer, his staff, and follow-up physical therapy with Ben Lefkovits and staff was exceptionally favorable. They were all competent, responsive, professional, resulting in successful surgery. A special “Thank You” to Dr. Stamer – your skill, counsel, etc., in handling my surgery has and will continue to improve my quality of life.

I asked Dr. Stamer about the anterior, less invasive approach to total hip replacement and the use of autologous conditioned plasma (ACP). He launched into a monologue about his familiarity with the old posterior method. Although I listened patiently to his lengthy response about his preference and experience, he never did get around to answer what I asked. He was not ready to accept new approaches to treatment, or even to accept the "patient as partner" social model. He belittled the MD that referred me to him because the referring MD supported ACP, a nonsurgical method. I'm very glad I went for a second opinion to an MD who performs both anterior and posterior method, and who after giving pros and cons of both decided anterior was best for me.

Waited over an hour. Visit was definitely rushed and not thorough. Will not return.

My appointment was at 1 today while sitting and waiting I found three other people with the same time appointment seems nice when he appeared in the room ask questions every time I tried to answer or explain what was going on he cut me off mid-sentence didn't listen to any of my concerns dismissed me as if I had no pain made me feel like I didn't belong there asked if I was interested in a cortisone shot I said maybe he walked back in with one before I could even think about it he was giving the shot to me no matter how much pain it caused he seem to not care I am truly disgusted and Disturbed with the way I was treated unfortunately I have no choice but to go back as this was a work-related injury I will be looking for a new doctor if you want someone who truly cares about you and listens to your concerns this man is not the one to go to

I have been to numerous doctors but, Dr Stamer stands above all. He only does what needs to be done he doesn't operate just to collect. He is not only honest but, very compassionate and understanding. He has a team with him that respects you as a person not just a patient. All Doctors should be like this one...

My left hip was painful for several years. Despite visits to several doctors, I was unable to get relief or an accurate diagnosis. On my first visit. Dr. Stamer explained my hip needed replacement, and showed the x-ray as proof. My rehabilitation and recovery continued longer than I anticipated. BUT, I am now able to do activities I stopped doing years ago AND live pain free! I feel like I got my former active life back! Two months after surgery, I went to Korea for vacation. I high recommend Dr. David Stamer for orthopedic surgery.

Dr.Stamer is an awesome doctor/surgeon.He is very pleasant and has a great sense of humor. Dr.Stamer has done carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand(never felt so good afterwards) and now has done it on my other.I highly recommend him to all my family and friends. I give him 5 STARS!!!!

I have seen many orthopedic doctors in past mostly in Manhattan , but fell and broke my leg and was directed to Dr Stammer .He seemed nice but rushed , office was empty , briefly explained diagnosis then sprayed anesthetic on my knee and rammed a large bore needle in .So much for waiting for anesthetic . I came back for CT Scan tech was rude and forcibly pulled broken leg and taped it so I couldn't move , I felt as if my leg was going to collapse .I was in extreme pain . Still waiting for brace company . Needless to say getting second opinion with doctor from HSS IN NYC.

Dr. Stamer did two ACL replacements for me in 2002 and then in 2004 back when he was with Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County. He was by far the most courteous and caring doctor I have dealt with and I have not had an issue with my ACLs since. He has great bedside manner, explained in detail what the surgery was about and followed up with me after the surgery. He makes his patients feel very at ease and overall is a great guy. Highly recommended!
