Dr. David Swedler joined the Center for Weight Loss Surgery in 2023. Originally from the Midwest, he earned his Bachelor of Science in molecular genetics at The Ohio State University and completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro University in Vallejo, California. Dr. Swedler completed his general surgery residency in Brooklyn, New York, and then furthered his training through a fellowship in advanced gastrointestinal minimally invasive surgery in Miami, Florida. His passion for bariatric surgery continued as a surgeon in Washington state, where he was one of three surgeons in the highest volume robotic bariatric surgery practice in the United States. Dr. Swedler is a certified American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeon (ASMBS). He specializes in robotic bariatric surgery, including complex revision procedures.

I saw Dr Swedler because my doctor sent me to him because I am overweight. I thought that I would get good advice on weight loss options and lifestyle changes. I had already started a keto diet when I saw him. The visit was rushed and he said that I would never lose weight unless I had him do surgery on me. He made me completely undress and embarrassed me for how I look. I don’t think I could ever go to a doctor again. I’m leaving out a ton of details but I’m not sure I will ever trust a doctor again

I couldnt ask for a more knowlegable doctor for the experience of my surgery. He was very confident and walked me thru it step by step as to what was gonna happen before and after my surgery. 7 days after my surgery i feel 95 percent back to myself. U would recommend dr david swedler to my family and friends.

At the time I met Dr. Swedler, there was a possibility that I was seriously ill, Dr. Swedler made me feel completely assured that he could and would take good care of me no matter the case. He won my trust that day.

Very friendly and makes you feel at ease. I had 3 masses removed at the same time and he did a fantastic job very little scar and no complications. I was worried about the surgery and recovery, but my experience was exceptional.
