Dr. David H Thio, MD

I'm very happy with Dr. Thio. I became his patient when my Dr. retired. The best thing is that Dr. Thio and his amazing staff keep me on schedule with my appointments. He always spends time with me and I enjoy his calm and friendly manner. I am glad to have him as my Doctor.

I've been a patient of Dr Thio for about a year and a half. Only selected him because there wasn't a long wait for an appointment. During an appointment he ordered lab work for me, after the lab results came back, I read them online and had an understanding. About a week later, I started receiving phone calls daily, requesting that I make an appointment. A week later, my wife, who is the emergency contact got a phone call from Dr. Thio's office because he wanted to see me. So now I'm slightly concerned, not much though, but call and make an appointment anyway. I go in for my appointment and spend all of 10 minutes with the doctor and he tells me what I already know from viewing the results of my lab work online. He didn't have anything new to tell me and I felt that it was a total waste of my time and money. What I have found from several appointments is that he does not listen well, does not ask pertinent questions, and repeats questions because he does not listen well. … Recently he had ordered more lab work for me, once again I read the report/results online and understood it. The following week, I started receiving phone messages from his office again, requesting that I make an appointment. When I finally called them back, I told the appointment maker in his office that I did not need to be seen just to go over my results and stated that I don't need daily messages left when Dr Thio wants me to make appointments. I will be switching doctors in the next 2 weeks.

I worked with doctor Thio and his patients continiously complained that he spent very little time in room. He is disrespectful to his staff that have to eat lunch at their desk, work overtime everyday just to catch up. He demanded to see as many patients as he could schedule in one day, hence why no lunch and overtime. The patients come first but not to this doctor. Never ask a doctor if insurance will cover procedures. He lacks courtesy, empathy He really does not care for his patients.

To this office, you are just a form of payment. Patient wellbeing is the last of their concern. You'll be made to wait hours passed your appointment and then the doctor will go through a prepared list of items to do. He will not listen to your concern or give you any type of quality medical advice. He will simple ask you to do lab work and schedule another appointment. If you want to see a doctor who will listen and provide good medical care, then David Thio is not the doctor you want to see.

Dr. Theo is too old school for me and I will be switching doctors. I have been going to Dr. David Theo for several years. A few months ago I had my annual exam and Dr. Theo mentioned that I could come back and he would complete a physical form that I need to take our church youth to a high adventure camp. I dropped off the form at his front desk and they said I could come back later that day to pick it up. They called me later to inform me that Dr. Theo wanted to see me prior to filling out that form so I scheduled an appointment. I arrived several days later a few minutes prior to my schedule appointment time, checked in and asked if he was behind (my appointment was right before lunch time – but I’ll get into this later). They said that he wasn’t. After 30 minutes past my appointment time I went to the front desk to inquire. They said that he is now running an hour late. I understand that happens but I wish they would have told me so I could have gone and grabbed a bite to… eat while I was waiting. I asked them if I should wait or if I had 30 minutes to go and grab a bite to eat. They went back and after talking with him told me that I should wait and that he would be with me in about 20 minutes. Forty minutes later, and 70 minutes past my appointment time, I’m finally called back to see him. When I tell him what I’m there for. He informs me that his office is paperless and that if I want a form filled out that I need to personally hand it to him. I told him I dropped it off several days ago and he just repeated himself and again reiterated that they are paperless and that if I want a form filled out that I need to personally hand it to him. He was unwilling to go up to the front desk and ask them for the paper. He also informed me that I need to do blood work all over again. Now I am in great shape, no medical issues and two days prior I just ran a half marathon, so there was no medical need to take blood so soon after my prior exam. I walked out upset and will never go see him again. An exam at a clinic is much easier.

This Doctor is bad news. Have been seeing Dr Thio for a few years and his bedside manner left a lot to be desired. Little things left me not trusting his judgement with his diagnosis for minor ailments. I have been 6'1 190 pounds for for last 15 years and he once wrote on my chart I was OBESE. Last straw was when he lied about an upcoming surgery and told me that my insurance would pay for everything and that there was no deductible for this surgery, then pressured me into having it.....then denied he ever said it when the bills started coming. Stay away if you are wise.

At my first visit to Dr. Thio we provided him an exact list of my medications. When he wrote out the new prescriptions he changed one without my knowledge. Our pharmacist questioned it and called and messaged Dr. Thio to ask why he changed the prescription. Dr. Thio did not respond and when questioned at a follow up appt, he said the pharmacist is not even a doctor. How disrespectful could he be. Pharmacist know more about medications than Dr. Thio will ever know. How arrogant. We don't need doctors like this.

Saw Dr and after checking me out gave thorough diagnosis and prescription. I will see him again. very professional with me.

Dr. Thio has to be the worst doctor I have ever had. I was asked by Riverside Medical to complete an assessment of my care under Dr. Thio, I completed the assessment and I wrote a letter describing my 3 minute new patient appointment. It saddens me to see that he has been allowed to continue to practice medicine.

This doctor is nice but I question his medical judgement. He didn't review my chart before seeing me. Asked me why I was there. Made rude comments under his breath about the medical reasons for coming to see him..did not treat reason for coming to see him. Left with same complains without any answers for suggestions. Focuses on old conditions. Kept wanting to give pneumonia shot. I told him that I had already taken it but he kept forgetting and would ask again. No confidence in this doctor. Previous problems from a year ago are still existing. Nothing is ever resolved.
