Dr. David William Swift, MD

Dr Swift has been a excellent Physician for me. He listens to what I say and how I feel. He is a caring Physician.

Took my arthritic 17 y/o daughter to Dr. Swift after she moved here from the Seattle area. We emphasized to him that numerous therapies had failed, it appeared to be rapidly progressing, and hers was a serious case that had been referred nationally. He ordered no x-rays or blood draws to establish a baseline for her. No recommendations were made for pain management at that time. On the second visit, a Physician's Assistant (or whatever she was) saw us. She had very clearly not read the file and no inkling of the severity of my daughter's case. She did not examine my daughter but based her comments on the file. She stated that while my daughter did not appear to have inflammation (?), she was prescribing her an anti-inflammatory drug. Again, no x-rays or blood draws. We went to a new rheumatologist in Lincoln. She got 10 blood draws, 28 x-rays, and we got more feedback on a plan of action in a preliminary appointment than from 2 appointments with Dr. Swift (sorry, one with Dr. Swift and… one with a PA)! I do not feel that Dr. Swift treated my daughter's case as dead serious. Nice fellow, but nice doesn't feed the bulldog.

Dr. Swift is very competent yet personable. He takes his time with me, is a good listener and makes sure he answers all my questions.
