Dr. David Thomas Wahle, MD

My 4 year old needed a tonsil/adenoidectomy. Dr. Wahle was great to explain procedures to us and tell us how to have a smooth recovery. Was great with my son and made sure to explain things to him as best he could. All nurses and hospital staff were very helpful and made us feel comfortable the day of surgery.

One of the best explanations of surgery I have ever been given and I have had several surgeries in my life. Excellent job and no complaints on the bedside manner. Always ask if I had questions and was willing to take the time to answer.

Knowledgeable and caring. While his bedside manner is very good, I am most concerned about and impressed by his expertise. I couldn’t be happier with my choice of ENT surgeons, and will recommend him to my friends and family.

My son had an accident that required us to be seen by an ent. First of all the hospital was HORRIBLE to deal with. Dr Wahle has the worst bedside manner I have ever seen in my life PLUS he caused an injury to my son that wasn't there prior to surgery. When my son came out of surgery Dr Wahle told my ex husband and I that there was a lubricant that was not designed for the eye actually PUT in my sons eye and there was damage to the cornea. He stated that he had an opthamologist on his way to check my son out. To make a long story short... My son (20 yrs old) had 80% of his cornea chemically burned from this lubricant. I spent every other day for 4 weeks taking my son to an eye dr to be checked out and NOT ONE time did Dr Wahle call and check on my son. NOT ONCE. The eye dr called our cell phones every other day or so to monitor my sons improvement because we had and hour and a half drive to his office. He was not allowed to go back to work when we expected him to therefore he… lost his job. This was a complete nightmare experience with this doctor. Be very cautious

This doctor came to check on our son after surgery when our doctor was not available. He waltzed in, ordered my husband, child and nurses around. He was not gentle or comforting to my little boy who was scared anyway. My son had just started talking to us, laughing and feeling better until this Dr. came in with his attitude. Seriously? We are two well educated, easy to get along with and kind people and he treated us like we were there to please him. We had no choice in the matter, but would definitely not choose this doctor. He probably is smart and knowledgable, but knowing how to speak to and deal with people goes a long way! We had an overall good experience on the hospital, but because this happened before discharge, which we should have been happy about, we felt upset. I would go to someone else if you have the opportunity. A health care provider should try and make you feel as comfortable as possible, not make your experience worse that it already had been!

I have dealt with this doctor for years, and it has always been a complete nightmare, I dread the appointment every time. It is completely inconvenient to get an appointment he expects us to come every 6 months but they won't schedule that far out so they expect you to remember to call within X amount of months and hope to get in. And of course don't expect to ask the receptionist when is the best time for an appointment, I have done this to no avail. It does not matter when you schedule it, please be prepared to wait a MINIMUM of an hour before you are seen, it's actually most likely going to be closer to 2. The receptions is far from friendly and I don't really blame the staff as I can imagine it can't be pleasant working for someone like this doctor. He does seem to be knowledgable, however, he does treat parents and children as if they are idiots. He constantly hushes whoever has the audacity to speak when he has not spoken to them. I honestly feel that he probably schedules… surgeries because either the cash or the sheer boredom of his day to day appointments and not for the benefit of the patient. Again, he is knowledgable, BUT, he is knowledgable enough to be dangerous and lead someone into believing they should listen to him and not doubt anything he says. I would DEFINITELY do your research and do not let him bully you into what he thinks should be done, as he has that way about him that you would be stupid to disagree with whatever course of action he deems fit. He is completely full of himself and inconsiderate of anything other than what he thinks should be done; there is no room for anything else. Do not expect any sort of bed side manner from this man regardless if he's getting ready to chop into your child. My ex thinks we should continue on with him as he's heard that he's the best. If he's the best we're in serious trouble because I am done and willing to take my chances elsewhere after years of this. If you have been here or are thinking of it, definitely explore your options and do not stay out of fear.

I was referred to this doctor from the ER medical staff at St. Marys so when I make an appointment I was told they needed to do research on my records and they will call me back. I had to call back later that same day and was told to go get my MRI done then go see my regular doctor and then after that maybe we will get you in. So I guess the doctors at St. Marys ER room have no idea what they are doing because a nurse for Dr. Wahle has just overridden their decision. I can't even get in to see this doctor, I can just imagine how people are treated when they get there.

Dr. Wahle is a fantastic doctor: has a great knowledge of his specialty, is a super nice man, and is willing to listen to your needs and desires. Wants to know the exact problem and is very detailed in his work. Always has a smile and a handshake for the patient. Staff along with nurses are extremely friendly and genuinely concerned. Fixed my hearing along with my constant ear infections. Would never allow someone else to do work on my ears. Office and exam rooms are friendly and very clean and tidy.

Was rude most of the time, good with my child but treated me like I was a child too. Hushing me when I was trying to help talk to my child when she didn't understand what he wanted her to do....I'm so tired of doctors that are full of themselves.
