I was sent to the ER late afternoon bc my doctor suspected I had a blood clot in my leg and when I arrived and told him why I was there he told ME to tell her , “ Not to send patients there because they don’t do scans in that ER”. They called a tech from downtown to come ultrasound my leg and when asked where the pain I felt was, the tech said well that’s not why I will be looking at. Shift change was happening and the doctor made a point to come back in before the results were back and tell he was leaving but wanted to tell me what he thought. He told me that he thought I had wasted my time and he didn’t think anything was wrong with me. That was a Monday night. I saw a vascular surgeon who rescanned my leg and found 2 blood clots and did emergency surgery that night. No thanks to this doctor I missed my 72 hour window and now have permanent damage in my toes from the damage of the clot. I was also told by my surgeon I was lucky that he didn’t cost me my leg. I recently got the bill… for his services and I can guarantee one thing….I will not pay him one penny. I could not believe his bedside manner and the things he said to me. 0 stars

This man does not need hold a medical license.

Went to Parkridge ER with numbness. And pain in my legs. I Dr Wharton showed much concern gave me a shot and 3 scripts and told me how to follow up. I give him A+.

My daughter went to ER with severe back pain and indicated to this doctor that this was her second visit to ER with this type of pain. She asked for an MRI so they could find out what was going on with her back. To which he responded, "what good would an MRI do." She told him that during her prior visit she was given steroids, anti-inflammatories and pain meds for the pain (which is what he was going to give her again) and since this reoccurred, she wanted an MRI to find out what was going on rather than put a "band-aid" on it AGAIN. He said an MRI wouldn't matter because she was "too young to have surgery." (It's a proven fact that the younger you are, the better/faster your chances of recovering from surgery--not sure why her age mattered given the extreme pain she was in and given this was a reoccuring issue.) He sent her home once again with pain meds, anti-inflammatories and steroids and paid no attention to her request that he check into her back issue further. On Friday,… the very next day, she started going numb from the waist down through her legs and feet. On Saturday, still numb and in excruciating pain to the point she was throwing up, she returned to ER and THEN, by a competent doctor, she was given an MRI to find out that she had severe back issues. Emergency surgery was performed that night and again on Monday. She is now in a rehab facility for what they are currently estimating will be 2-4 weeks. Sad that this doctor was pushing pain meds on a young patient that was saying she wanted to know WHAT WAS CAUSING HER PAIN. This doctor did not listen to the patient and chose the easy way out (pain meds, steroids), which could have cost my young daughter permanent nerve damage. Giving this doctor one star is a credit.

Rude, disrespectful and unprofessional.

He don't care when it comes to a high risk Pregnancy a woman comes in bleeding passing clots the size of golf balls . We call the hi risk dr his nurse told is to tell dr. Wharton to call the high risk dr and he said "we don't do that" then said you should have waited and went to your hi risk dr. This man has no heart .that is a life in that belly it is your job to do everything in your power to save a life not act like it don't matter
