Dr. Dean Parker, PhD

I have been seeing Dr. Parker for ~2.5 years. He has been very helpful in helping me address my anxiety and stress. Dr. Parker’s approach is direct and insightful, while keeping his bedside manner intact. During sessions he has helped lead me to understand the root cause of my struggles and offers effective methods to overcome obstacles with his personal demeanor. I would highly recommend Dr. Parker.

A family member went to see him. He suggested and supported issues that other psychologist deemed part of a condition. He never diagnosed or explored it rather agreed and instigated the delusions rather than work toward the facts or get other family member involved or the prior therapist to better understand and help the patient. He asserted assumptions that were not true deepened the challenges which had a negative impact on that family member, the family and those supporting with led to a deeper spiral that has now lasted several years. What therapist does that ? What therapist drive their patients deeper into delusions but making the delusions a reality ? I cant go into details for the privacy and respect for the family member but share this so potential patients are aware.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Dean Parker for over 2 years now. He’s amazing. He’s helped me get through some of the lowest points in my life and helped me grow as a person. He’s extremely professional and caring. I can’t say enough good things.

Starting sessions was a great decision. Dr. Parker is a straight-forward, supportive therapist who gets to the heart of issues. He also provides thoughtful insight to help initiate growth and peace of mind. Highly recommend!

I have been going to Dr. Parker for over 3 years. Not only is he an experienced, knowledgeable and professional therapist, he is also a genuinely compassionate human being who cares about his patients. He has helped me through difficult times and has given me useful tips and strategies on how to deal with my anxiety. He is very intuitive and has a unique ability to help me come up with solutions to my problems. He creates a safe and nurturing environment where I can feel comfortable opening up about any topic. No matter what life throws my way, I know that I have his support and guidance to help me get through any situation. Highly recommend him!

Self obsessed with anger Management issues. He should seek therapy for himself

Read reviews about his anger management, but did not believe till I faced the same after a few visits. He is unprofessional does not even greet you in a welcoming manner. Opens the door by his clock, asks you to come in, no hand shake no greetings and starts checking his voice mail. Once done with his voice mail first question is about the copay on every visit. Does not even note down the copay in his file. Abruptly ends the session by his clock. Does not remember key issues discussed in previous sessions. You have to go through the pain of stating them again. He shuts you up if you interrupt him stating how many papers he has written, was featured in Newsday and also was a Prof at Hofstra. Not sure how he still has his license to practice when he should himself be seeking help

Dr. Parker stormed out of the office slamming the door. He was upset with me because I kept on telling him to stop interrupting me. When he came back in he threw me out. My poor wife was stunned. While I had my hand on the door he stepped up on me (in my face) my wife stepped between us. Anger management? Conflict resolution? He needs help! OUTRAGEOUS!! Totally unprofessional!!! I've never experienced anything like it in my life!!!
