  • Family Medicine

A family practitioner is a doctor who specializes in caring for people of all ages, at all stages of life. Rather than focusing on the treatment of one disease or patient population, family practitioners are often the doctors that people see for their everyday ailments, like cold and flu or respiratory infections, and health screenings. When necessary, family practitioners will provide referrals for conditions that require the expertise of another specialist.

Horrible staff

I called in advance to ask if it was OK if I was a few minutes late. The drive was an hour each way. Receptionist said it was OK. After I arrived, I waited 20 minutes, watched other patients go ahead of me. I asked when the doctor was going to see me and was informed, loudly, that my appointment was moved an hour because I was a few minutes late. Very rude receptionist, and I would have never known unless I asked. I would have cancelled the appointment and not wasted an hour driving there and back had I known my appointment was being moved without my knowledge. I later called to reschedule, an appointment after work so that I wouldn't have this problem again, and was told that the doctor only sees new patients in the morning, even though she's open until late evening, no exceptions. The experience with this doctor was snobby, rude, absolutely awful. I can't take a day off work just to go to the doctor and they were not willing to accommodate at all.

Not a Good Feeling . . .

I agree with the other reviewers as to the lack of any expressed caring and the cold feeling I got in her office. There was no discussion. She asked the questions that were pertinent to her and treated my questions with disdain. The appointments were quick with no discussion and not much of a chance for me to ask questions. There is one plan for everyone like someone said and it's a pretty superficial approach to healthy eating. She gave me a recipe for a greens drink and didn't even care to find out that I already make a much healthier version. It's pretty hard to help someone if you don't even know where you're starting from. Yes, she gave me all the paperwork for testing and diet, but had I not mentioned it when I went back to see her, was not even going to ask me about them. I long ago stopped accepting that as a patient I was just an entity to obey the doctors orders without question or discussion. I want to be part of my wellness program and that isn't happening at this office. This doctor is definitely not one to honor your questions and concerns. I went there on the recommendation of a friend, but things didn't feel right from the moment I walked in (the energy was bad and I should have acknowledged that and not gone back) . There is not an ounce of warmth or caring in this office. She spends very little time with patients and never looks up to greet you and never smiles even though she always seems to be running around the front office. I was never sure what she was doing, but never did she ever look up and smile or greet a patient. A few years ago I went to an urgent care and was treated better. I won't be going back. It's sure hard to find a good doctor anymore. The good ones have all gone to concierge medicine and that has become elitist medicine only for the rich and not for the average person. That's how I lost my doctor a few years ago.

Five Stars

Doc is not the warmest personality on the planet but she is a great doctor. So do you want to feel happy or better?

Not my doctor

She gets 5 stars for the business of medicine but only one star each for the art and/or science of medicine. She is not interested in you or your medical history, wants to push her understanding of health (meaning abstaining from animal protein) and wants you to come to the office for many, very short visits. Her interpretations of lab results were incomplete (to the point of negligence) and she did not show debt knowledge.

Dismissive attitude. Prediagnosis based on her experience, not listening.

On my first visit,I found her to be dismissive of my explanation of my problem. She didn't want me to talk or explain, she would ask the questions and I would answer her questions, and that's how it would be! I found her to be judgemental, insensitive and dismissive. I figured that I would give her a second try, as everyone has a bad day. She prediagnosed my condition, scaring the !@*! out of me, requiring invasive testing, only to discover that if she would have LISTENED to me, she could have accurately diagnosed and treated my problem.
