Dr. Deborah Englert

Dr Englert could not have cared less about what she was doing when I went in for a skin cancer body screening at Advanced Dermatology in Abingdon, MD. The exam room had me seated in regular office lighting, not on a table with bright exam light. I pointed out areas of concern and even with those she was done in less than 3 minutes. She even missed moles areas that other dermatologists biopsies in the past that had grown back and looked the same. Don’t trust your care to her. She was checked out and doesn’t care, and the setup of the exam room was awkward in a low seat having you stand up for the back of your legs to be checked. At the end, no recommendations for anything, suggestions for laser treatments for spider veins-she literally didn’t care. She needs to retire. (This was 2023.)

Good Dr! Dr. Englert, cares about people conditions & what they are going through! Suffered for years with full-body Eczema & now it is not an issue anymore. Easy to make appts. Very clean & nice.

Kind, compassionate, funny, and a cat lover. She makes me feel at ease and even jokes with me. I highly recommend this doctor.

My comment is pretty close to one of the earlier recent comments. I waited quite a while past my appointment time in the waiting room, only to be ushered into a room to wait another 15+ minutes. When she FINALLY arrived, she barely looked at me ... and I was there for a full checkup since I've had a squamous carcinoma removed there a few years earlier. I had a VERY large recent laceration on my calf which she never asked about because she never looked at it or noticed it until I brought it up AFTER her "examination!" Since they're higher priced anyway, and there's ALWAYS a long wait, I'm finished with them.

Well run office, appointments start on time; kind staff. Dr. Englert is compassionate, easy to talk to and very on-point with my treatments! Excellent.

Outrageous fees. Never again.

She is Awesome

I decided to find a dermatologist closer to my home. The office staff was very friendly, courteous and very prompt. I met with Dr. Englert for all of five minutes. I explained my 26 years of skin cancer and atypical mole issues. She examined me with the human eye no magnifying glasses. I was told I looked fine and no issues. In my 26 years of seem to dermatologist previously my exams have always been thorough and approximately 30 minutes . I doubt I'll return.

I decided to have a skin cancer screening. I'm 58 years old and spent alot of time in the sun in my youth. I sat in the waiting room 45 minutes past my appointment time. After waiting another 20 minutes in the exam room Dr. Englert finally came in. My exam lasted less than 1 minute. She did nothing but glance at my skin with the naked eye. Not once did she use a magnifier. I have never had a screening before but I expected at least 10 minutes of her time. Will never go back!

I recently went to Dr. Englert for a leg lesion, she never examined the area, was out of office in less than two minutes, but claimed it was a bug bite, gave me samples to try, called back less than a week later, the lesion is worse, redness almost up to my knee. I was seen the same day I called ,by a PA, but was told that Dr. Englert was in the office, and would look at it, if the PA thought she should see it. The PA couldn't figure out what it was, left the office 4 times, I assume to talk to Dr. Englert, who wouldn't look at it herself. I was told a keratosis, I questioned that because it was no longer a spot but my leg was inflamed, then told bug bite again, then the PA comes back and said I have a disease which is bad, and not curable. However, no one ever really examined the area, looked at it from a distance, also no biopsy. How can you tell someone they have an incurable disease without some type of biopsy, then gave me a medication that I found out I'm allergic to… it. When they wrote out this script, I asked if any of the drugs I'm allergic to are in that medication, and was told "No, it wasn't. I got it filled ( they sent to pharmacy by email) After seeing the other name Batrim goes by, it has sulpha in it, I'm allergic to the medication, so I wasted money on medication also, plus Dr. Englert would not come in to see the leg herself , how can you diagnose a supposedly incurable problem from another room. I'm sure she was doing some cosmetic procedure that she could make money, instead of seeing a patient who really needed to see her. Does she have an idea how this affected me hearing such a thing, and not being positive about what was said by her PA, who was totally confused I would never go back to this office again. It's a money making cosmetic office, because they're always trying to sell this stuff, when you have a real medical issue that these cosmetic products can't help at all.
