Dr. DeeAnn Wong, MD

Be careful when seeing Dr. DeAnn Wong. I saw her for many years. She never told me what she perceived to be my “diagnosis” nor provided a treatment plan. She prescribed medication and didn’t do a deep dive to see if the medication was effective in regards to my other medical issues. She knew I was on other medications from my primary physician and should have explained to me that being on so many medications would have monumental side effects. The anti depressants she prescribed were exacerbating the other medical issues I was having. My point is that I was over medicated and there was no explanation as to why I was having issues that were related to the antidepressants she was prescribing. She should have known and discussed this with me. Additionally she knew I was in a toxic relationship but never told me and never gave me resources to help me learn and understand more about the relationship I was in until AFTER I told her I couldn’t see her anymore. I have talked to other doctors… after ending my care with Dr. Wong who say that she over prescribes medication. She also has a cold and detached approach. She listens and prescribes medication. She doesn’t provide feedback to help deal with your concerns.

I have contacted this office 3 times in desperate need of help for my son. They do not have the common courtesy to call back.

I rarely write review, but I felt compelled to write this on. I was only with Dr. Wong for 4 months because she prescribed a similar medicine that I had had adverse reactions to in the past. She kept increasing the dosage every month even though I kept telling her that I was getting worse. She told me it took 30 days for the medicine to build up and I had to reach the max limit before she would consider changing medicine. There was absolutely no flexibility with changing the medicine earlier and no understanding or softness for what I was experiencing. She is extremely rigid. Also, if you do not give her 24 hours notice for a cancellation she will charge you regardless of the reason why. I called 18 hours in advance and I still was charge for the missed appointment. I highly suggest that you look for a different doctor.

Run!! This woman was slmost redponsible for my death. She prescribed so many drugs I becam e far, far worse. She hasn't a clue what harm she is doing to people. There is no way she will be able to farry on like this, eventually it will sll catch up with her. After neing away from her now for a year I sm still unable to live a normal life. I am bery fortunate to have found a Dr mow who is helping me thru the mess she created for me. Don't let her near you!!!!

My adult daughter was seeing Dr. Wong for anxiety and depression and working at the same time for minimum wage as a barista in a coffee shop. Dr. Wong, who doesn't take insurance, seemed indifferent to her limited resources. A more significant problem is the difficulty my daughter had getting access to her medications. Dr. Wong prescribed an anti-depressant that did help, but insisted on 30 day only prescription with no refills so that my daughter needed to keep contacting her to get refills and/or have another expensive 20 minute visit. When my daughter moved to a new state Dr. Wong refused to provide her with more than a month's cushion of meds and then, when my daughter ran out of meds, before being able to connect with a new psychiatrist, and called Dr. Wong-- experiencing renewed symptoms of anxiety and depression--Dr. Wong's told her to travel 3,000 miles for an office visit, otherwise, she is on her own. Beware this insensitive physician.

1.my 14 yr old son at told the dr. it was a good idea to move downstairs to an isolated bedroom to be alone as a big guy. He was up late eating, watching tv, on his computer, etc. I thought my husband supported it, he thought I did. Then we assumed Dr. did. After 4 terrible months my husband and I agreed that this was a mistake and as parents said it was a NO wondering why the Dr. would suggest and he said he told her it was his idea and she said to do it to be independent . He is back upstairs . His meds are same as they were before . 2. My daughter, several years younger, has separation anxiety . Although we had a great adolescent/child therapist we had her take a very expensive thorough test to see if she needed meds for anxiety. At the end, not having had or understanding this kind of sensitive kid, shamed both my child and me after explaining that it was a non medicine issue and that she was trying to control me,etc. My daughter had a tantrum when ther Dr. said you are'nt going… to have your mother go to college with you? This was to be 9 years in the future. There was more diagnosis of non controllable puplic unacceptable behavior because of the resultant tantrum that the Dr. couldn't see as a non parent how she had fueled this. Several months later, because of the work my daughter has done in therapy ,her separation anxiety specific to this issue is resolved.

My wife started seeing Wong several months ago. Over the last two months I noted a marked deterioration in her mood. She had become more quickly agitated and became angry by minor things.... things very out-of-charcter for her. I noticed that Wong had a prescribed a "new" medication that was almost identical to a previous medication my wife had taken before with significant problems ... effexor. I called Dr. Wong to explain my concerns, she dismissed them and then told my wife of my call. Wong became quite defensive about her prescriptions. In my opinion, my wife's condition has continued to worsen... She has now moved out of our home to an apartment.

She brought up and pushed forward with the discussion of the sucide of a maternal grandmother that had never been mentioned in to a sensitive 9 year old as a routine part of her collection our families medical history. I was so shocked by this by insensitivity I did not know how to respond. Her questions to both the adults and child present were superfical and leading. She seemed to reach a snap decision based on very little information. And finally she demonstrated a clear bias against large families by immediately assuming our home was chaotic and stressful because we have 4 young children. So I am left to explain a familial sucide to a young, sensitive and quite possibily depressed child while I keep looking for a therapist who I believe can actually help us.

who not only knows her stuff, she is also compassionate and kind.
