Dr. Denisse Marion-Landais Ambler, MD

I was a patient here for around six months, and not only is the office staff rude they're incompetent as well. More than once I showed up, on time, WITH my appointment card from the previous visit, and they didn't have me scheduled. I live 45 minutes away, but this was the closest office I could find. Not only would they not see me at my SCHEDULED appointment time (around 11am) they wanted me to come back at 3:00. Four hours later. When I live almost an hour away. In addition to their lack of good customer service, and organization Dr. Ambler herself is condescending, and judgemental. After giving me at least three different trial prescriptions, (her suggestion) none of which I cared for due to side affects for a period of 4-6 weeks each, I finally had a terrible skin reaction to the final suggested prescription. I called for two days and didn't receive a return call. Finally when I DID get a call the woman was rude, and out of line. My kids were running around screaming, I was drying… my hair, and running late. Needless to say I wasn't cheery. I told her I wanted to speak with my doctor, and her response was "why are you so angry?" I don't PAY YOU to analyze me. Which is why I want to speak with my doctor. I have every right to be upset with the performance of this staff thus far. On top of that I was told to just discontinue use for two weeks. No I don't want to take meds that give me a rash, but these are also not the kind of meds you just STOP taking for a couple weeks. I wasn't offered another option. An appointment for the next day. Nothing. Of course I was angry! And I let her know. Again I told her I did not want to speak with her I wanted to speak with Dr. Ambler, and I hung up. Dr. Ambler called me the next morning to inform me she was discharging me due to outrageous behavior. Their office is a family friendly environment, and they can't risk me having some kind of outburst in the office. I wasn't even IN the office when I was short with the rude receptionist. I was on the phone. Not a single person in the office was subject to the conversation aside from the two of us. I was also told that there were too many inconsistencies in my history with Dr. Ambler because I told her I took my meds before a visit when I actually forgot to. SO! I fibbed about a dose of medicine (which I later rectified at my own will) and I hung up on an intrusive receptionist with a bad attitude. My advice is find a different Dr people. I did, and he's wonderful. He listens. They always keep my appointments and I'll admit...I'm almost never right on time, but they've never charged me for it or refused to see me. In a nutshell my time with Dr Adler was a complete waste, and I felt like a test subject. This woman had me on several different medications, back and forth, up and down...and every single one did NOTHING aside from make me sick or give me a rash. I'm almost thirty, and I've been Taking ADD meds since I was 8. I asked her for the medicine I wanted and was used to, but at a little higher a dose because lately it have been working as long. Instead of trying what I KNEW was right for me and MY health and MY body she have me a six month runaround only to leave me with ZERO meds until I found my new Dr. This place...absolutely the WORST Dr office and DOCTOR I've ever seen.

Dr Ambler has accommadated me and my needs when no one else could or would. She is compassionate, knowledgeble and want what is best for her patients i am glad she is in my life

Dr. Ambler has been treating me and my illness for the past three years. She has exceptional insight and is very compassionate in her practice. I have been very pleased with the treament provided. The staff at North Carolina Neuropsychiatry are professional and efficient.
