Dr. Dennis Gerard Begos, MD

Dr. Begos did a successful laparoscopic colon surgery 10 years ago when my father was 90. Dr. Begos stands out in my mind from all of the other doctors my father had owing both to his outstanding abilities as a surgeon and his kind, compassionate manner. On several occasions I called him with a concern and was immediately put through to Dr. Begos. He always patiently listened then kindly addressed my concern. Marvelous surgeon who treats his patients with the upmost of consideration.

needed emergency surgery by another hospital. Horrific agony since Spring.

Needed surgery not emergency but needed soon in lots of pain. Office could not get available OR for 2 wks. I asked to have Dr Begos call me because he wanted it done the next day or 2. Dr. Begos called me at 9 pm very empathetic to situation and how much pain I was in. He told me to stay NPO after midnight and he would see what he could do. He said if I don't hear from him by 9 AM next day to call his office so I wouldn't have to go all day without eating. He called me at 8:55 am next day and told me to be at the hospital at 11am. He got an OR. That to me is going above and beyond for your patient. He is an awesome doc and person.

Dr did not understand the specifics regarding the cancer I was diagnosed with during the apt. Needed to go back to his office to get the info that the patient already understood.

Dr. Begos diagnosed and performed the surgery for my diverticulitis. He is an excellent doctor and surgeon. He always made time to answer any questions that I had about my condition and the surgery. I would highly recommend him to all of my friends and family.

Dr.Begos was recommemded to me by a friend who went to him a few years back with a similar problem as mine. Although Dr.Begos' office was a 60+ mile round trip ride, I found he was well worth the drive. Dr.Begos is kind,gentle and was a wonderful listener. He did a wonderful job with my surgery and I highly recommend Dr.Begos for anyone looking for a professional and compassionate doctor.

Despite his claims of expertise in performing laparoscopic sigmoid resections, Dr. Begos damaged a main vein, the vena cava, while inserting a trocar. Results? An 11-inch incision, 6 units of blood transfusion, a 13+ day hospital stay instead of 3 days, a damaged pancreas, a huge, misdiagnosed hernia (6 in. x 5 in.) that required a follow-up operation. Dr. Begos NEVER apologized for any of it! Most arrogant, uncaring doctor I've ever met.

with a lot of patients waiting to see Dr. Begos, I did not feel rushed and his bedside manner was great. He answered all my questions and concerns and then some.
