He has trained numerous Transfusion Medicine Specialists and is the recipient of Teaching Awards from the Department of Medicine and Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UCLA. He has also received the Owen Thomas Award from the California Blood Bank Society and the Philip Levine Award from the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
