Dr. Dennis Ray Northrip, MD

I’ve seen this “doctor” three times, and the experiences just keep getting worse. First two times, when he finally found his way to the exam room, he didn’t even acknowledge my presence. He just sat there and played on the computer. When he finally got around to me he wanted to talk about everything except my medical issues. A 10 or 15 minute “exam” thus took 30 to 45. He seems to want to impress the patient with how smart he is. But this last visit was terrible. I wasn’t put in an exam room and set there for a full hour listening to him and his last patient visit and chat about everything under the sun except that patients medical issues. They were even singing the Star Spangled Banner! I kid you not! I couldn’t and wouldn’t make this up! Finally a nice lady came in my room. I told her the above. She went next door and informed Northrip that he had another patient waiting. I heard him say “Oh, I have another patient?” Really? Hi didn’t even know? Maybe he should check his schedule… instead of wasting time visiting and singing with a patient who is obviously as oblivious to the presence and needs of others. I finally left. And another very professional staff member scheduled me for an appointment for the next day. I will be writing a letter outlining the above to the proper authority at the practice employing this person.

Very slow seeing patients but takes his time when it's your turn. Have had a couple of procedures with him and trust him fully.

Dr. Northrip is a caring doctor. He tries to find out where your pain is and helps you with it. I only saw him once, and that was my first visit.(after my orientation) He did ask a lot of personal questions though. I've been there for like 6 months or so, and they haven't asked if my pain meds were helping or needed to be adjusted. I let them do trigger point injections on me and they did not help. They only made me sore for 4 days. They haven't checked my blood yet, to see if my liver enzymes were elevated from the acetaminophen. Over all, this is an ok place. The people are nice and courteous. I just wish I could see a doctor again, instead of a PA.
