Dr. Derek Matthew Steinbacher, MD

I had a FL and NL done by Dr. Steinbacher, the neck lift was good but the facelift could have been tighter. The perioral mounds were not addressed. It does not even look like I had a face lift I still have droopy areas. I would not recommend him for facelifts. I signed HIPPA papers stating my photos were not allowed to be used on social media. There were two of them posted on his FB page. I phoned his office, the receptionist removed them for me. Because of this I have chosen a different surgeon for my next procedures. A surgeon should never betray a patient's trust in them, thus the 3 star rating.

I had double jaw surgery Jan 2022 with Dr Steinbacher to correct a bite issue. Four months later I have a ridiculous underbite, I can't chew, and I talk with a lisp. Once the surgery was complete, he hands you off to his interns and nurses and you can't get in to see him. End result is I have to have the surgery done again, but I absolutely will not go back to Dr Steinbacher. Don't use him, there are plenty of good surgeons who can do this work.

My results and experience as a patient of Dr. Steinbacher exceeded all expectations! He performed double jaw surgery to correct abnormal alignments due to being born with a cleft palate, followed by a rhinoplasty months later. Since these operations I have become significantly more confident in my physical appearance and have a better ability to breathe and speak. Despite it being a long process, Dr. Steinbacher never failed to make me feel comfortable with the procedures and helped me to understand the expected recovery. I recommend him and his team at Yale New Haven Hospital to anyone interested in jaw surgery or a rhinoplasty, it is truly life changing!

Good afternoon. Approximately 8-10 years ago I had Mohs surgery at Yale. Allison Hanley was my surgeon. The surgery was on my right ear. The spot in question was small (or so we all thought). When Dr Hanley was done, ¼ to 1/3 of my ear was gone. There was no plan ahead, as to what we should do with that much ear gone. I left the Mohs center alone. Driving home I could not think of anything else. I think I was in shock. Dr Hanley took a picture of the damage and asked two surgeons if they were interested. Answer, ‘no’. She contacted Dr Steinbacher. He asked if I could meet him the next day and the rest is history. Fast forward. I was at the same Mohs center for a spot on my right cheek last Tuesday. They saw in my chart that I had been there before. The reason I am writing is because, to a person, they had to ask which ear. What better compliment to Dr Steinbacher? I have told people over the years about my ear and when told which ear it was, they were surprised… that they never noticed a difference. I work in the public eye. Dr Steinbacher came to my rescue. I am very grateful. He is exactly what I would expect from Yale. He is a caring and skilled surgeon. Greg

Dr Steinbacher and his team were amazing. My daughter had a La Fort 1 surgery. As difficult as that is, he and his team were just amazing. Professional, warm, caring and top notch. I would recommend him highly.

I bit swollen , but I’m very satisfied with the results. very excited to see the full results once I complete the healing process!

There aren't enough THANK YOUs to express my gratitude to Dr. Steinbacher for what he was able to do for my mother. She had a tumor on her jaw that Dr. Steinbacher was able to remove and replace the damaged bone with a custom implant. She looked terrible after surgery and the entire family was afraid that she would look disfigured and scarred. However, you could never tell that my mom had anything ever done to her face. There is no scarring and she has full use of her facial muscles. I am beyond grateful to Dr. Steinbacher. He is truly the best in what he does and I cannot recommend him enough!

I followed Dr. Steinbacher’s advice & waiting to have my broken nose repaired, only to find out from an ENT that I should have had it repaired immediately. Now, I suffer from a crooked nose and severe breathing issues. Please see an ENT within one week of breaking your nose- not a plastic surgeon. You’ll be much better off.

Dr. Steinbacher is the absolute greatest surgeon around. He creates results one hundred times better than famous surgeons celebrities use. The techniques and precision of his rare work amazed me. The entire staff is incredibly kind and always trying to achieve the results that you were looking for. If you want a Top of the line, overqualified and overly educated surgeon he is more than fit for you. I will never go to another surgeon or recommend anyone other than Dr. Steinbacher. His work needs to be nationally & globally honored and recognized. If I could give Dr. a million star review I would in a heartbeat. Easily and without any doubt the best of the best! Nobody else goes above and beyond like him, and you will not find a better Surgeon.

Dr. Steinbacher is an amazing surgeon. He performed my third rhinoplasty, and while I am only 3 months post-op, the results are exactly what I wanted. I couldn't have went to a better surgeon. I wish I would have went to him sooner so I could have been enjoying this nose for the past 10 years instead of the one I had. Not only does my nose look amazing, I can now breathe out of it again. Highly recommend, do not bother to look elsewhere.
