Dr. Dianne Elizabeth Sacco, MD

I've had 4 surgeries with Dr Sacco and couldn't recommend her any more highly. She is a leader in the field of kidney stones, a compassionate listener, and a skilled surgeon.

Dr Sacco was rude, curt, and disrespectful. She clearly had no time for nor interest in her patient. She could benefit from a refresher in people skills, and an reminder that patients are people. Seeing her was an awful experience.

I found dr sacco to be an excellent surgeon. That said, her practice is so busy it’s virtually impossible to get a timely appointment for anything. Office staff overworked and stressed - recommend going to a urologist w a more manageable size practice. Do not feel cared for!!!

I saw Dr.Sacco in 2005. My PCP was concerned about trace amounts of blood in my urine. The cystoscopy went ok. I had to come back for the results and waited for over an hour for her to see me and then was told I'd have to reschedule b/c she didn't have time to see me! Apparently they'd forgotten I was there waiting, (even though I'd checked in when I got there on time for my appt.)? I left and called in for my results, but they said I'd have to come in to get the results from the doc. I reminded them that I'd been there and was "dismissed" after a long wait and they should just give me the results over the phone. They said no and I asked that they talk to the doc. Finally she very reluctantly agreed and they gave me the results--she didn't find a problem with my lab report or cystoscopy. I was grateful, but so glad I didn't go back to the hospital to get this one minute report. I felt like she and her staff had no respect for my time. I wouldn't want to see this doc again.

Never helped me since 2008. Just kept making apts and telling me to drink water and lemon. Here it is 2018 and im worse. She did not help me at all.

One of my CT Scans showed my kidney swollen and urine backflow. Dr. Sacco wanted to put in a stent that I would have to have for the rest of my life and have to have changed every 3-4 months. I asked for a 2nd opinion and the 2nd urologist decided we should wait 2 months since I was taking prednisone for inflammation. After 2 months, my kidney is now back to normal, no problems at all. Dr. Sacco had told me that I needed to have the stent put in immediately because I had already permanently damaged my kidney and if I did not I would end up on dialysis or lose my kidney. Thankfully I got a 2nd opinion and did not go through the unnecessary stent. I would never go back to her, I would never recommend her. I am upset with how scared she had me for the past 2 months.

Dr. Sacco has done my kidney stone surgeries a couple of times and she has been great. I trust her completely . She may be a little abrupt with her patients but she knows what she is doing . The only I would have to say is she might want to spend a little more time with her patients instead of running in their rooms after surgery because they need some reassurance from some they know and not from people who are on her team who sometimes are very friendly and the patients do not know.

Have had 2 visits with Dr. Sacco and find her to be incredibly professional, thorough, patient and thoughtful. Am very pleased with her approach and solution to my medical issues. She's definitely a 5* doctor. Thanks MGH for offering such quality care.

Saved my life and took into consideration my feelings.

I had the awful experience of having kidney stones for the first time and was in so much pain. Dr. Sacco monitored me and allowed me extra time to "Pass" the stone rather than rush into surgery. I found her to be extremely through and truly concerened. I did have to finally have the stone surgerically removed, and Dr. Sacco did a great job. I continue to see Dr. Sacco for follow up and methods for elimination of kidney stones in the future.
