At 52 I was informed by my doctor that I had a heart murmur that turned out to be a serious mitro valve problem. I met with several surgeons and picked Dr. Loulmet based on his pragmatic approach and his extensive experience doing less invasive robotic surgery. I had anticipated being in hospital and recovering for an extended period of time. To my delight, I had the robotic valve surgery (which lasted 5 hours) and was released from the hospital after 48 hours of post-op care, feeling better than I’ve felt in years. I cannot recommend this team highly enough. Outstanding patient care and truly an amazing surgeon. If you have the option, robotic surgery is the only way to go.

Dr. Loulmet and his entire staff took excellent care of me, and Sarah always took time to fully answer my questions. Just four weeks after the robotically assisted mitral valve rapid surgery I was running again. Couldn’t be happier!

I recently had major heart surgery performed by Dr Loulmet. He helped explain the procedure in detail, warned me of the risks, told me what to expect and instilled confidence that he was the right man for the job. In short he was right about everything. Surgery was more complex than expected but everything was done perfectly. i was up and out of bed the next day. The staff at NYU are incredible and put patient first everytime. I was out of the hospital after 4 nights and recovery at home was so much better (and comfortable and familar). his team is always available for any questions and never rush you when you have needs. I would recommend Dr Loulmet to anyone who has heart issues which require surgery. his skills - both surgical and personal are 2nd to none. you will never regret choosing him as your surgeon.

Excellent person and physician

Dr. Loulmet performed a mitral valve repair on me at NYU Langone in May of 2018. He and his staff are among the most competent and professional people I've ever met. Heart surgery is never an easy thing but I cannot imagine it going any smoother than mine did. I felt like I was in the best possible hand throughout the entire process.

After meeting with Dr. Loulmet and investigating other options, I was operated on November 27th, 2017 with Dr. Loulmet and had Robotic Heart Surgery at NYULangone Hospital. My surgery was a complete success. I was released from the hospital after 2 days and on the road to recovery after a very short period of time. I cannot emphasize enough, anyone who is faced with this important health issue, to strongly consider Dr. Loulmet and Robotic Heart Surgery. I am a vocal as well as visual proponent of Robotic Heart Surgery.

Had Mitral valve repair 25years ago at the Cleveland clinic by Toby Cosgrove , the best repair surgeon in the world at the time. Feeling great .Fast forward recent echo shows mitral leaking again. Dr Cosgrove no longer practicing . He is now CEO of Cleveland Clinic. Went to see 2 other surgeons plus my cardiologist and they all said surgery immediately until I went to see Dr. Loulmet and he said not so fast. He sent me for a TEE which is a more in depth look at the valve in 3D. It showed that my valve was not nearly as bad as they all said and I can certainly wait and since I am not symptomatic at all why rush. They were all ready to chop me in half. If I do need it in the future which is possible, I know Dr.Loulmet will not cut me up and I am not frightened. HE

I found Dr. Loulmet twelve years ago when my birth defective mitral valve quit working and he had recently been recruited to the United States. I interviewed 8 surgeons before I picked him. He successfully repaired my own valve, far better than a pig, cow or steel valve, and I'm still sailing my boat, living a full active life and enjoying my grand kids. He continues to take an active interest in me years later, far beyond anything you would expect. His outstanding reputation is based on his excellence.
