Dr. Dirk Ross Diefendorf, MD

When I was referred to Dr Diefendorf with a very badly broken wrist in May I didn't know what to expect. I was scared and I had done a lot of damage. He quickly put me at ease by explaining exactly how he was going to repair it and what to expect. Five months later I have almost full range of motion back in my hand and I couldn't be happier. Dr Diefendorf is a fantastic surgeon with the best bedside manner and easy to talk with personalty. I owe him and his office staff a world of gratitude. I felt like I was in the best of hands from the first visit to the last. Thank you Dr D. and staff especially Sandra.

I had an awkward fall at home, hitting my left side very hard. I couldn’t move. EMT transported me to Mills Peninsular Burlingame where took excellent care and confirmed that I ha broken my hip. Since it was already early evening there would be no immediate surgery. I was in a lot of pain overnight and saw Dr D in the morning. He explained in great detail exactly what ha happened and what the plans were for fixing me. I went in for the procedure a couple of hours later and remember absolutely nothing until I woke up 4 hours later. I was pretty woozy but when I was alert I realized that there was zero pain. I’m home now and there has been zero pain since the operation. The service I received at Mills was outstanding and they prepared me very well for release. I can’t say I’m happy to have gone through this, but the process and the outcome have been outstanding. 5 stars all the way for everyone concerned. I’m ecstatic with the results.

My husband had shattered his wrist. Dr. Diefendorf was in Palo Alto attending to two different patients. He called me from the surgery room at the hospital ER to see how we both were doing. I have never had any doctor go above & beyound to want to know what we needed & what he could do to make us calm. He even called our home that night to talk to my husband. Our office experience with him was again unbelievable. His assistant at the front desk Lana wax amazing as well. If u k ow what a dry sense of humor is, u will love Lana. If not, that's something u will have to come to terms within u. But amazing doctor. Would refer anyone to see him cuz not all doctors are compassionate. Manx not all care. They r just there to do the job.

I have been to him three times, had to wait an average for 55 minutes. Terrible receptionist. Good Doctor

Besides the ridiculously long wait of over an hour with no explanation or apology (I decided to wait rather than spend my time away from work to come back again), they said I should have gotten the Xrays from the hospital and brought them (which no one told me although they said they did). I had expected the primary care doctor to have sent the Xrays on to them.

Great doctor.

Never seen a doctor who said , you will have to leave with it. (Had severe knee pain and could not walk.)
