Dr. Dominic Louis Demello, MD

Very condescending. He kept complaining about how the lab at my health center didn’t do the labs correctly and if that kept happening he wasn’t going to take their patients anymore. He was supposed to put in an order to redo the labs and 5 days later it still wasn’t done. Not sure it would have ever happened had I not contacted him. More than a week after the labs came back I still hadn’t heard from him. Contacted him once again and got a very terse response with no indication about follow up care. Completely worthless and will not be seeing him if further card is needed.

Dr Demello examined me and from my description thought that I had a form of fibromyalgia. He put me on a script and said if I had what he thought I would feel better in 3-4 days. Dr Demello called me personally to enquirer how I was feeling. I told him that I was feeling the same. He told me to discontinue the medication,and put me on another script. That didn’t work either. He then wrote me a script for physical therapy. That was the start of my recovery. After awhile I started getting the symptoms back again,so I called him and he prescribed another medication and to continue therapy. In our search of process of elimination we are pretty certain what the problem may be. I am going to a neurologist soon. Thanks to Dr Demello I have confidence that I can fully recover. He never gave up. I admire his determination and dedication. I would definitely recommend Dr Demello. Patricia from Springfield

I believe patients who have a bad experience with a doctor will take the time to go on the internet and comment. Most people who have a good experience expect that. I did not have a good experience at all with Dr. Demello. I went to him because I had a "new" bone growth on the side of my foot. I have very bad arthris in my hands and feet. He was very conversational, talking about non-medical issues. He did no even EXAMINE my foot. I told him I was taking aspirin. "good". After the pleasantries (NO exam), he said: "Come back to me when your KNEES ARE SWOLLEN? It took me by surprise and it didn't make sense. As I was checking out, I saw him standing at the counter and wanted to go and ask why he said such a thing, but I didn't. I have NO idea why he would say that. I would NEVER return to him. I have OA; I do not have rheumatoid arthritis. Why does he expect my KNEES would get swollen and send me off with those words? I don't get it at all. Sorry.

I was be seen by many doctors and they didn't know what did i have, until I find DR. Demello he is my savior. The first time I saw him a was in an wheelchair and after 2 weeks I was walking, he always treat me very well,he is caring doctor, and he will be my doctor for ever.

I dont want to give specifics because im very personal but when u opened up to him he acted mean and shut me down.

Dr. Demello is a wonderful Rheumatologist. He spent over 30 minutes with me attempting to find the best course of medicine and action to assist my RA. When all of my X-rays and blood results came back he personally called me to discuss my options. I will keep Dr Demello as my Rheumatologist as long as he continues to practice medicine!!

What the other reviewers wrote is completely NOT what happened with me. I too have fibro and he told me it's untreatable due to it being a learned behavior! If I went to therapy and exercised then it would all go away even though I and my boyfriend told him over and over again how there are days I can't even walk without a cane and I'm only 28 years old!

I honestly didn't know what to expect. I was being referred for a determination of fibromyalgia and he spoke to me about my history and it's connection to the disease. he didn't tell me what to connect but asked me questions and let me figure it out, taking time for me to understand and explaining things to me. he then did an exam and confirmed the diagnosis I suspected was right....16 out of 18 points right. he walked me through how to work with the medication he prescribed to find the best outcome and sent my records, as I watched, to my primary care physician. he is funny, and personable, and it was a very positive experience. and he didn't have me running back there (over an hour and a half from home) but simply said if I needed to talk to him I could call but my regular doctor could take it from there if I didn't run into some problem and need his input. such a good experience!

I know I put 45 minutes for wait and I must admit I was a bit anoyed while I was waiting but this Doc is worth it.The reason I waited is that he takes his time, he does not rush you. Top that with, a personal phone call. I needed yet another blood test and he say's I'll call you and let you know the results and I figured an assistant would call, nope he called personally and again he took the time to answer all of my questions. This Dr. is top notch and I have already recommended him to my own mother. Thanks Dr. DeMello
