Dr. Donald Vincent Heck, MD

Dr. Heck saved my life 12-01-23 from a Basilar Artery Stroke. I had a clot-buster shot and Thrombectomy procedure at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. I would have died if not for this man. I cannot thank you enough! Jeff Porter Belews Creek, NC

This is one time We didn’t have a choice and didn’t get a say so on what was going on or who was going to be the Dr doing the job but Boy aren’t We glad He was there to fill the shoes!! Job well done! You’re literally an Angel in Disguise, saving lives! My Mom all the way up from Wytheville came in two weeks ago via ambulance when it was rainy and you removed a clot. She’s doing amazingly Well!!!! You reassured Us You felt she would make a full recovery and Yes She has! The hospital staff was wonderful also. You will not find a better drum. Dr Heck is knowledgeable, understanding, listens and hears you, and explains things very well. He makes sure you understand everything before you leave his office.

Dr. Heck quickly identified and repaired the burst brain aneurysm that caused my stroke. Subsequent to my discharge from the hospital he repaired 3 other brain aneurysms. I was particularly impressed with his communication skills, giving me the "bottom line" first so I could then listen to the specifics without wondering where this was heading, would I need surgery, etc.My condition is a continuing one at this point, so accuracy of diagnosis is hard to assess, but I'm pretty sure it was an accurate assessment & approach of retesting in 6 mo. to see if things are stable or declining to the point of surgery being required.
