Dr. Douglas Brian Moreland, MD

No Explanation of Testing or Examination This was the most horrific doctor I?ve met. Within less than 5 minutes, he told me he had nothing he was going to help me with, no examination, no medical treatment plan, no recommendations. I had my diagnostic testing, he refused to explain it to me and told me he was the one that went to medical school and pushed me out the door. He told me I looked like I was depressed. I?ve been in chronic pain and decreased mobility for years, yes, I?m depressed. Now I?m traumatized and mistrusting due to my appointment with him for less than 5 mins. No compassion.

This physician put false information on everyone of my IME reports. He only included negative information on my worker comp IME's that appeared to favor comp carrier. Not a unbiased exam. He reported that I didn't plan to return to work but he never asked me if I planned to return. He stated that I was weeping, attention seeking and fabricating my symptoms as well as displaying historionic behavior. I never shed a tear or acted inappropriately. I could bearly walk and required a cane on my initial visit. Every IME report stated that I was able to return to work, full time with no restrictions. I took my daughter's to my exams as the are also health care professionals. They were stunned by Dr Moreland's mannerisms (smug, belittling and arrogant) and the erroneous details of the reports. Stay away from this physician... My records had an incorrect birth date even with my medical records, driver's license and intake. He reported spending 5 to 17 hours reviewing my medical records. Not a… chance. Run, run, run from this physician.

This so called “Doctor “ is paid THOUSANDS of dollars to refute legitimate injury cases!

My husband had a bulging disc in lower back and saw Mooreland. Mooreland's bedside manners are not the greatest and, since my husband was in an auto accident, he did make a comment about "I'm not operating just so you can sue." Yeah, we were insulted but Dr Egnochik recommended him and we trusted him. He did let my husband take time to try PT and chiropractic care but ultimately, my husband needed surgery. The surgery was successful and now my husband is back to work, golfing, and living a normal life. How my husband and others have explained back surgery is: You will never be where you were before the injury but you're better than after the injury. Mooreland did his neck surgery, a few yrs later, and that was successful- much easier than the back.

This dr will actually attempt to destroy a persons workers comp case if you refuse to let HIM operate on you. AFTER i told him i didnt want surgery he wrote a report to the workers compensation board sayin that i was "lazy " and "exaggerating ".....the next time i saw him he was telling me that he was ready to schedule my surgery ASAP. WHAT A DISGUSTING HUMAN BEING. stay far away from this man.

I was diagnosed with herniated discs, every neurosurgeon in rochester and buffalo would not see me for a month and a half, so I already had been living in constant pain and was getting worse. The nurse at his office received my mri results and I explained I was not capable of waiting she got me in to see him right away and fitted me in for surgery. The doctor explained thoroughly the procedure. He was kind before surgery and after. He is an excellent doctor and a decent person

Had back surgery in Sept. 2018 with Dr. Moreland. Had to take 6 weeks off work, cost me $3000 out of pocket after insurance and I'm not better than before the surgery. He told me my surgery was Neurology 101 on my 1st visit. Well he must have failed that class. He took a personal phone call during my initial consolation. Could not believe it. You wait forever every appointment. The day of the surgery I was told to be at the hospital by 5:30 AM 1st one there. He showed up around 8:00 so I sat there for hours waiting. Same thing in his office. Yesterday was the final straw. Had a new MRI done to go over why I was seeing no relief from the surgery in Sept. 8:40 AM appointment got called in finally at 9:24. Sat another 15 minutes then is saw his PA who did a few nonsense tests. He finally showed up at 10:05 no apology for being so late as usual. Then told me he disagreed 100% with the Radiologist read on the new MRI. I asked what can I do to help my nagging pinching… symptoms. I am an avid bowler and golfer an am about to retire. I got this surgery so I would be able to participate in these sports after I retire. He told me he's sorry I can't do those things and sent me on my way pretty much. Needless to say I will be getting an 2nd opinion. Arrogant, bad bedside manners, be careful.

I have had terrible neck and upper back pains for years, and finally decided to get an mri and fix this. I went to dr moreland for an initial visit after the mri, and my experience was terrible. I waited in a waiting room for 2 full hours, then finally this guy comes in, tells me that the mri read said i had a cyst on my spine, but that he disagrees with it. Tells me its nothing and that theres nothing he can do. This is a true story people!! this actually happened to me. 8 plus years of neck issues to have some a**hole tell me its nothing and to do nothing more about it. absolute joke.
