Dr. Eduardo Elias Benarroch

I read the previous reviews with trepidation and I saw Dr.Benarroch today and couldn’t have been more pleased.He spent an hour with me, gave me the most through and complete neurological exam I have ever had; reviewed my medications and previous tests and ordered more tests and clearly explained why. He was concerned thoughtful and helpful.

I saw Dr. Benarroch in October 2016. I am a physician who has 2 board certifications myself, so I am judging his performance as a patient and as another physician. Not only was he clearly disinterested towards me as a person, I found him to be dangerously dismissive. He actually contradicted himself during my visit and appeared uninterested in taking a complete medical history. I have since been properly diagnosed at another institution. I would strongly advise avoiding this person.

I went in with very little expectation but was shocked by the really bad experience .... he didn’t listen ....acted like the consult was a punishment. ....not sure he even took a history .....he didn't read the history I brought with me ... Didn’t document the exam .. can’t believe Mayo hasn’t picked up on this in a peer review. Later after revealing my concerns to his staff I was told, “it wasn’t one of his better days”. My advice ...don’t settle for some random neurologist at Mayo who is past his expiration date ... do your research , ask around and try to find a teaching program with a physician who is well respected by colleagues and patients .

Egregiously arrogant/ if you think you want to see him after you read this review just to be open minded and to give him the benefit of the doubt..(like I did) you are selling yourself short of the respect, attention and professional demeanor that you deserve from a physician. I taught medicine for a living. Cancel your appt and reschedule with someone else.

Dr. Benarroch is one of those doctors who is more prideful and arrogant then caring about the patients current situation. Even though, it was both a waste of our times, I being sent to him, and him seeing me, he ignored the issue, treated me like a child, and kept over talking anything I brought up. All he said was, "Pump your foot with your other foot." Well thanks to that advise my leg got worse, actually much worse. So, now I have to see a specialist because the blood pump in my leg got collapsed do to compression from a surgery, which has caused pooling and edema in my foot. If Dr. Benarroch would have acknowledged the apparent vascular issue, I may have been able to get assistance. Of course, he works at a clinic that overall is full of self-righteous doctors, who come up with diagnosis that are irrelevant and incorrect. Not only was he a major disappointment and a joke, the entire medical staff at mayo, besides for 1 doctor I saw, is a joke. Don't waste your time here. Don't… waste your time seeing these doctors. If you have an autonomic condition, I have a brother who has POTS, go elsewhere. They don't do proper TILT Test, Sweat Test, or any tests. It's all quick and sloppy. They are herding cattle and only want your money. Sorry to say that the Mayo Clinic at Rochester is the worst clinic I have ever been too. I do have an autoimmune disease, and endocrin issues, and due to several factors compression is something I have to worry about due to my illnesses. But not one doctor, including this doctor, did their due diligence to figure it out. I have find a place to help me, and well your local universities and doctors are the best, or go to the coast you will find a doctor there. Don't give up if you come here and these doctors cannot figure it out. They are not the Undiagnosed Disease Network, they only handle pre-diagnosed patients who then they can help. In themselves they are unable to diagnose anyone properly. If you have a serious issue I would contact NIH (National Institute for Health). Why they maynot take your case, they will assist in directing you in the right direction you need to go. Good Luck to everyone! I understand when you feel like no one understands your health issues, yet you have a physical manifestation staring them in the face. Some doctor out there will figure it out, keep going, even if you have to leave the country to do so. Don't give up on your health, or allow this doctor, or the team of doctors at Mayo, make you feel like an idiot or your situation is insignificant. I wish you all the best!

I went to this doctorwith very high expectations that he would finally be able to help me. If only I had read the other reviews first. I would not have put myself through the time and money spent. Prior to me even going over my concerns, I was told repeatedly that it was not autonomic- seriously about 6 different times. I was hardly able to get a word in and in the end- was told that essentially even though I did not think I was depressed or had anxiety- my body didn’t know the difference. My other physicians were undermined when this doctor reviewed my medications and all about scoffed and laughed as to why they tried the medications in the first place. In the end, I left very confused. When I read his note- there were errors throughout- as he did not listen to my concerns. Although Mayo is the #1 neurology group in the United States- this doctor is certainly not helping them and should be closely reviewed by the higher ups as there are multiple reviews with very serious concerns

Dr "B" entered the room with a huge smile and put me at ease. He asked all the right questions and listened to every concern. He was wonderful through all my testing and diagnosis. You could not ask for a more capable and kind Neurologist .

Absolutely awful! Every bad review written here is exactly how it is. I had much higher expectations of Mayo.
