Dr.Edward Chang misdiagnosed my daughter's TN

My daughter was in horrific pain so we took her to UCSF. Dr.Edward Chang said he could see no medical reason for my daughter to be in so much pain. We then took her to another Neruosurgeon. An MRI was taken and we found out my daughter had Trigeminal Neuralgia. My daughter underwent a cranial surgery called Microvascular Decompression. I can not understand how Dr.Chang is listed on the Facial Pain Association as a doctor who understands Trigeminal Neiuraliga. Because Dr.Chang relied on a CT scan and never even had my daughter take a MRI, which is the correct diagnostic tool for TN. Dr.Chang was also rude and arrogant.

My Daughter went to see Dr. Chang about serious arm and shoulder pain after a series of seizures. She was told that pain was to be expected after suffering seizures, to continue trying to stretch it out, and she may at some point have to see an orthopedic specialist. He never examined her , never ordered any XRays, just sent her home. After seeing a Neurologist, she was immediately told to go to a orthopedic specialist. We made an appointment with Dr. Islam and when he saw her he immediately told her to stop stretching, took X Rays, found that she had dislocated both shoulders, and had 2 fractures in each shoulder. He sent her immediately for a C.T. Scan and 2 days later she was having major shoulder surgery on her right arm. Fourtunetly she is probably not going to need surgery on her left shoulder because it popped back into location on it's own and the fractures are healing well enough. although she still has severe pain in her shoulders ( which Dr. Islam says will be a fact of life for her for a long time.) She does not have full use of her right arm, which has affected her job performance and cost her training for promotions. The pain she suffered for so long after Dr. Chang's neglect could have been taken care of if he had taken the time to order a simple X Ray. She had just started training for her new job and had to put it all on hold because Dr. Chang dismissed her because she was his last patient of the day, she is 28 years old and he believed she was just trying to get pain meds. from him. The pain and trouble she has experienced because of his neglect did not need to happen if this Dr. had taken some time to pay attention to her.
