Dr. Edwin Meridith Ashley, MD

I came to see Dr Edwin Ashely and I waited 4 hours for the doctor. I had my x Ray's that were very recent taken within a month uploaded by front office staff. They said it was okay that I brought my own x Ray's that were recent. Then at least 4 assistants come in the patient room asking If I was ready to take x Ray's. I was pretty upset and let each person know I had brought my own and 2 people claimed to have uploaded them on the computer for the doctor to examine. As I am x ray certified myself I know it is completely unethical to take x Ray's unless my very recent ones were undiagnosable. The doctor didn't even want to look at them. He said he does not know why I am being so resistant because with my ppo insurance they are completely covered. I asked again are you sure there is no cost to me and he said no cost to me. After waiting 4 hours already I agreed to take them and he just said to me the swelling he cannot do anything about it. No advice no anything just to get a bigger… wedding ring to fit my finger. Obviously anybody would be upset with this visit and to find that I have been billed for something I was tricked into doing. I am absolutely not paying. I would like another phone call confirming this inappropriate charge is removed. I have already been assured it would be taken care of and they would speak to the office and get it removed but I keep getting Bill's in the mail.

I find Dr. Ashley to be truthful and honest. I have permanent nerve damage. My previous doctor told me that I would need surgery to correct the problem, and I was referred to Dr. Ashley. During my consultation, Dr Ashley told me that there is no guarantee that surgery would help at all, and if it did, the improvement would be minimal. Dr. Ashley further stated that he could take my money but he preferred to sleep at night.

Do yourself a favor and DON'T GO TO THIS DOCTOR. He does not listen and has his own agenda which does not include your well-being!! I knew from the very first visit I didn't like him but thought "He's the doctor, he knows better". I should have listened to my gut and just said NO!! He has made my injury worse and now I need to seek medical attention from someone else.

I had a big issue with sitting for two hours to be seen. And every time being told he wasnt even at the office when I arrived.

Dr. Ashley has great bedside manner, and is a highly competent surgeon. However, the time management issues in his Santa Ana facility are annoying. Bring a book...or two..because you will sit and wait to see him for an hour or two for each appointment. He travels constantly between Riverside, Beverly Hills, and Santa Ana to his different facilities and you never know what time he will show up. Your appointment is scheduled at 1:15 but he doesn't even arrive into the building until 2pm. Usually the entire waiting room is filled waiting to see him.
