Dr. Elizabeth Briggs Jenkins, MD

I start to see her since summer of 2013 ,my experience with her is excellent every time I visited her ,she is very caring person as well as a doctor , hundred percent recommend her and wish her the best.....

I waited 6 months to be seen by her. Dr. Briggs is quite literally the worst doctor I have ever interacted with. I have been seeing her for almost a year and am finally fed up with her. I have over ten symptoms related to my hypothyroidism but because my levels are "normal" she brushes them off saying they can be caused by this or that and to follow up with my GP or OB/GYN. What is funny is that in the last three months at my OBGYN and my Gastro both said "You need to find a new endocrinologist who will treat the symptom, not the number". They both agree that my symptoms are directly related to my hypothyroidism. They both were shocked to learn that I have discussed these symptoms (such as low heart rate, low blood pressure, puffy face and hands, no libido, heavy cycle, brittle nails, cold intolerance and ofcourse fatigue) with her and that she brushes them off. My final straw was my last appointment with her. She came in (also didn't mention that she lacks any type of interpersonal… skills) and this is how the conversation went: Her: How are you feeling? Me: The same. Her: Same symptoms (proceeds to read them from her computer screen). Me: Yes, nothing has changed, I don't feel any better. Her: Well your numbers are fine. Do you need a prescription refill? Me: Yes Her: Okay here you go, see you back in 6 months. She should not be allowed to practice. She is a horrible doctor who does not listen to her patients. I have an appointment with a new endo who has been recommended to me by several friends who they say "listens to her patients". DO NOT SEEK TREATMENT FROM DR. BRIGGS.

Dr. Briggs and her staff are one of the most professional and efficient medical group I have ever known. She monitors me very closely and adjusts my medication when needed. Her staff takes care of all my requests promptly. Perscriptions are called in immediately. When I forward my Blood Sugar numbers to her, I receive a call back that day on whether or not I need to make any adjustments. I never feel rushed in my appointments. She takes the time I need to address all of my concerns. Dr. Briggs and her Associates are top notch in my book. I'd highly recommend to anyone who wants a great Doctor and wants to receice excellent service.

I love her...she helps me all the time with my diabetes...she is easy to relate to and loves kids and adults equally.

This was a horrible experience. Dr. Briggs took me off a medicine with no advice and I became severely sick for three weeks. When I called to ask questions, a receptionist delivered a message from her stating that I shouldn't feel nauseaus, even though a syptom of the medication I was taking was nausea. She told me to follow up with my gp, but he told me it was a thyroid problem and her responsibility. I am disappointed I was never called by her and I felt "brushed off". I'm going to a new doctor immediately to get my thyroid taken care of.

Dr. Briggs is up on the latest in thyroid disease and osteoporosis treatments and medications. She takes whatever time is needed to answer my questions.

I would caution firmly against seeing this practitioner. Everything the other reviewer said about not listening, being careless, etc is entirely true. She demonstrated no empathy or interpersonal skills whatsoever. She simultaneously acted as though she was lost and exhibited no competency in any aspect of her profession; also verified by the next endocrinologist I saw. She was unable to answer even the most basic questions that I posed that one would expect a physician, albeit young, to know after four years of med school and five years of residency. Even my GP has heard similar opinions on this Dr. I don't hate this women; if anything, I kind of pity her as she clearly lacks the talent, ability or personal traits necessary for the profession she has invested heavily in pursuing. As patients, though, our primary responsibility is ourselves; thus I feel it's only appropriate to share my experience with this level of candor to spare others.

She doesn't have up to date knowledge of the latest issues in health care. She misdiagnosed several things and she made several bad assumptions. She is ignorant of many of the latest techniques. The wait was 55 minutes which is nearly intolerable as this was a morning appointment.

She was a resident at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She made a diagnosis that other doctors missed. She is a very compassionate doctor and easy to talk to.
