Ellen Margaret Mchugh, MD

I’m now a grown adult who had Dr. Mchugh as a child from about age 5-11 at Twin Tiers Pediatrics. I have two major illnesses that were missed being diagnosed as a child, not just by her but by drs at Guthrie Pediatrics as well, and could have been treated and in control throughout my childhood and early adulthood. They are fairly common genetic diseases in women and are often diagnosed in childhood. Her bedside manner was always very abrupt and she told my mother I simply needed more exercise and to have me join a community children’s soccer team. I wish she knew how much she could have changed my life instead of just brushing off my obesity as just laziness and baby fat.
