Dr. Eric Berg, MD

Dr. Berg is thorough and provided referrals, but is also extremely condescending. I was consistently scolded for BRIEFLY expanding upon a “yes or no” question about a symptom, such as shortness of breath. It was typical for him to say something along the lines of “it’s a simple yes or no question: are you having this symptom?” after I provided a 1-2 sentence explanation of how I’m experiencing the symptom. At times he would raise his voice in annoyance with me. Navigating conversation with him felt impossible as I had to walk on eggshells and I was never able to grasp an understanding of what I was doing wrong. I saw him approximately ten times and I had the same issues every visit. I eventually left the practice because it was too distressing for me and I don’t want to be physically examined by someone who makes me feel unsafe.

My first experience with Dr. Berg today, went in without knowing anything about him (not my usual), can confirm the other reviews about his mannerisms and such are accurate, that said, I don’t go to the Dr for a best friend I want to be diagnosed and treated for whatever the issue. He was very thorough and gave me several recommendations along with a couple snide remarks that I just brushed off as him being an eccentric dude. He’s a good doctor and I’d recommend him if you have thick skin. He was definitely the providing the most thorough examination from a doctor I’ve ever seen and I may switch primary to him. If you want someone super friendly and chatty he ain’t your dude.

New patient I was rudely remind that from Dr. Berg several times when I ask a question about a procedure. “I don’t know, this is my first time seeing you” loudly. I had a couple more questions I asked throughout the appointment and he continually ignored me and read loudly over top of me. Very condescending. Needs to change his career path if he does not like people asking questions.

Good Dr. but terrible attitude - talks very rude and makes you feel terrible.

Dr Berg has been my primary for several years now. He is consistently thorough and even calls to advise test results. He takes his oath as an internist to the highest levels and is the best doctor I’ve ever had. I will never change him as my primary!

I’m a current patient of Dr. Berg and will be finding a new doctor. When I only need an annual physical I was ok with his rudeness. However, now I ‘ve been seeing him for an issue his behavior is unacceptable. I just don’t find him rude. I find his condescending way, negative attitude and the way he treats my wife as if she does not exist in the room unacceptable. I also find it unbelievable that when returning for follow-up appointments he walks in not knowing why I’m there. No clue because he doesn’t refer chart or review your test results until he asks you why you’re in the office. If looking for a doctor, you should find someone that cares and has a bedside manner. Dr. Berg has neither.

So this is the second time I went to see Dr. Berg the first time he was a bit rude and I thought maybe he was just having a bad day. second time around personality was still the same. I would highly recommend a different doctor to anybody who's considering Dr. Berg. The only positive thing I could possibly say is that he is good at assessing the situation and prescribing you what you need and explaining your medications. Dr. Berg if you can see this review I would highly recommend you brush up on your bedside manner when it comes to your patients and stop talking to them and such a condescending way if they ask you to repeat yourself.

Seems a little spastic sometimes and disconnected at others. Didn't seem to recognizeme from prior visit

Dr. Berg will spend the necessary time with you that is needed to get to the issues that you are having. His bedside manner is great. I have been seeing him for a yr now and I think he is great. Would highly recommend him.

I was a patient of Dr. Bergs for a short time. I had been very sick and he treated me like a waste of his personal time. He seemed as though everyday was a bad day for him and treats others like you are below him. He was rude, condescending, will get upset with you if you inadvertently interrupt him to explain yourself or symptoms better. I left his office in tears 3 times and one right after I was discharged with pneumonia. He is horrible and I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. He needs to learn patience, empathy and revert to his promise to The Hippocratic Oath. He has nothing but a "your wasting my time" attitude and demeans you while you are in his presence. I have since found someone new and he's great. I have also been told by 3 other Dr's that know him personally that he is a terrible example of how a Dr should be. So why he is still practicing is anyone's best guess.
